New Betting Sites in Kenya 2026: What’s New and Licensed

The best new betting sites in Kenya for October 2026 are SportPesa, Betika and Odibets, which are the first big bookmakers reported to hold licences issued under Kenya’s new Gambling Control Act, and JuiceBet, the most credible brand-new sportsbook to launch in Kenya in the past year.

Kenya is in the middle of its biggest licensing overhaul in decades. The old Betting Control and Licensing Board is gone, a new regulator is issuing 2026 licences, and dozens of small “new” sites have appeared, with many already offline. Below you’ll find which new betting sites we could verify, which we couldn’t, and how to check any new bookmaker before you send a single shilling.

Advertising disclosure: AffSupreme may earn a commission when you sign up through links on this page. This never changes our ranking criteria, and we only recommend operators with evidence of a Kenyan licence. Gambling is addictive and is for adults 18+ only.

📌 Key takeaways

  • Kenya’s Gambling Control Act, 2025 replaced the BCLB with the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA). Licences issued under the old law were set to end on 24 September 2026, and operators had to apply again.
  • As of mid-October 2026, the GRA had not published a register of 2026 licences, and a High Court challenge to the new licence fees was still open.
  • SportPesa displays a 2026 GRA licence number on its site, and court filings reported on 13 October 2026 list new 2026 licences for Betika and Odibets.
  • JuiceBet, run by Gamma Gaming, launched in Kenya in 2025 after BCLB approval and offers M-Pesa payments, a sportsbook, a casino, Aviator and weekly cashback.
  • Many small “new” sites launched since 2025 have gone offline or can’t be verified. In April 2025 the BCLB ordered the paybills of more than 50 illegal crash and betting sites suspended.

🆕 What counts as a new betting site in Kenya in 2026?

In most countries, a “new betting site” simply means a brand that launched recently. In Kenya in 2026, that definition isn’t enough, because the whole licensing system has been rebuilt. Every operator, old or new, has had to apply for a fresh licence under the Gambling Control Act, 2025, and the regulator itself has changed name and powers.

That creates two very different kinds of “new” for Kenyan punters:

🪪

Newly licensed

Established bookmakers that have been issued a 2026 licence by the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA). The brand isn’t new, but the licence is, and it was granted under the new, stricter rules on KYC, deposit limits, real-time monitoring and advertising.

🚀

New brands

Sportsbooks that launched in Kenya in 2025 or 2026. Some came in with backing from established B2B platforms and a BCLB licence. Others are small sites whose licence status we couldn’t confirm, and several have already gone offline.

We cover both in this guide, and we’re upfront about how much we could verify for each. Our ranking only includes brands with real evidence of a Kenyan licence: a 2026 GRA licence number shown by the operator or reported from court records, or a licence approval reported by independent industry media. Brands that only appear in affiliate listings or sponsored articles go into our watch list instead.

⚠️ Important context: as of mid-October 2026, the GRA had not published a register of licences issued under the 2026 regulations, and a High Court judicial review of the new licence fees (JR E251 of 2026) was still pending. Licence status in Kenya can change quickly this year, so check the GRA website before you deposit at any site, including the ones we recommend.

🇰🇪 Top new and newly licensed betting sites in Kenya (October 2026)

Our ranking puts licence evidence first, then M-Pesa payments, products, promotions, the mobile experience and responsible gambling tools. Three of the four are established brands with fresh 2026 licences; the fourth is the strongest genuinely new brand we found.

👀 New betting brands we couldn’t verify (watch list)

Plenty of new names have appeared in Kenya since 2025. We looked into each of the ones below, but we couldn’t find enough independent evidence of a current Kenyan licence or reliable product information to recommend them. Launch dates come from betting-site trackers and press coverage; treat them as indicative.

We’ll revisit this list when the GRA publishes its 2026 register. If any of these brands appears there with a valid licence, we’ll review it properly.

🔎 Detailed reviews of the new and newly licensed betting sites

Each review explains what’s new about the brand in 2026, the licence evidence we found, the products and promotions we could confirm, how to pay with M-Pesa and who the site suits. Where something couldn’t be confirmed, we say so instead of guessing.

1. SportPesa review: a 2026 licence on display

★★★★★9.2/10
🪪 Licence: GRAK/2026/BK185751 shown on its website (read 19 Oct 2026); Milestone Games Limited on the 2025/26 register
📲 Paybill: 955100
🏆 Jackpot: 17-game Mega Jackpot, KES 99 per entry
📱 App: Android app and mobile site

What’s new in 2026

SportPesa is about as far from a new brand as Kenyan betting gets, but in 2026 it’s one of the first major bookmakers to show a licence issued under the new regime. A paybill directory that checked operator websites on 19 October 2026 found SportPesa displaying the bookmaker licence number GRAK/2026/BK185751, a format that matches the new GRA numbering. Its operating company, Milestone Games Limited, also appeared on the GRA’s list of licensed companies for the 2025/26 trading period.

The GRA hadn’t published its 2026 register when we checked, so we couldn’t confirm the number against an official list. That’s why we recommend matching it against the register once it’s online.

🏆 Mega Jackpot

The Mega Jackpot is SportPesa’s signature product. You predict 17 football results for a KES 99 stake, and the same entry also counts towards 13, 14 and 15-game prizes. SportPesa pays bonuses for near-misses, from 12 up to 16 correct predictions in the 17-game category, and when nobody wins, the pot rolls over; it has passed KES 400 million in the past. You can enter on the site, in the app or by SMS to 79079.

Remember that getting all 17 right is extremely unlikely. Treat the KES 99 as the price of a weekend’s entertainment, not an investment.

⚽ Sportsbook

Beyond the jackpot, SportPesa offers pre-match and live odds on football, basketball and tennis. An app update introduced full cash out, so you can settle a bet early, and Aviator is available for crash-game players. SportPesa returned to Kenya on 30 October 2020 after leaving during the 2019 licensing dispute, and in Blask’s September 2026 data it ranked second in Kenya for betting brand search demand.

💳 Payments

Deposit through M-Pesa paybill 955100 using your registered Safaricom number as the account number, or pay the same paybill from Airtel Money. The 5% excise duty is deducted from every deposit, and 5% withholding tax applies when you withdraw.

✅ Pros

  • ✅ Displays a 2026 GRA licence number
  • ✅ Kenya’s best-known KES 99 jackpot
  • ✅ SMS jackpot entry on 79079
  • ✅ Full cash out

⚠️ Cons

  • ⚠️ No welcome bonus we could confirm
  • ⚠️ Licence number not yet on an official GRA register
Best for: punters who want the reassurance of a 2026 licence and a big weekend jackpot for a small stake.

2. Betika review: new licences for Kenya’s biggest brand

★★★★½9.0/10
🪪 Licences: GRAK/2026/PG592241 (public gambling, signed 2 Oct 2026) and GRAK/2026/BK337947 (bookmaker, signed 6 Oct 2026), per court filings
🏢 Company: Shop & Deliver Limited
📲 Paybill: 290290
📱 App: iOS app, Betika Lite and mobile web

What’s new in 2026

Betika’s operator, Shop & Deliver Limited, held bookmaker licence 0001117 and public gaming licence 0001113 on the GRA’s 2025/26 list. According to an affidavit in a High Court application filed on 12 October 2026, reported by 254 News, the company has since been issued two licences under the new numbering: a public gambling licence (GRAK/2026/PG592241) signed on 2 October 2026 and a bookmaker licence (GRAK/2026/BK337947) signed on 6 October 2026.

There’s a caveat you should know about. The same application questions whether these licences were signed before interim court orders issued on 6 October, and asks the court for clarification. Those are the applicant’s claims, not a court finding, and the court hadn’t ruled on them when we checked. We’ll update this review when it does.

🏆 Jackpots and promotions

Betika’s strength is breadth and jackpots. The 17-game Grand Jackpot and the Midweek Jackpot give low-stake players a shot at a big prize, and casino and crash games sit alongside the sportsbook under one account. Betika doesn’t use promo codes at sign-up, and the welcome offer figures we found varied widely between sources, so check the promotions page inside your account for the current terms.

📈 Popularity

Betika is the brand most Kenyan punters search for. In Blask’s September 2026 snapshot, it held 29.1% of betting brand search demand in Kenya, up from 25.7% in July.

💳 Payments and app

Deposit to M-Pesa paybill 290290, using BETIKA or your registered phone number as the account. Airtel Money and bank transfer are also offered. Betika publishes an iOS app and Betika Lite for phones with little storage or slow data.

✅ Pros

  • ✅ New 2026 licences reported in court records
  • ✅ Kenya’s most searched betting brand
  • ✅ Grand and Midweek jackpots
  • ✅ M-Pesa, Airtel Money and bank transfer

⚠️ Cons

  • ⚠️ Pending court application about the timing of its licences
  • ⚠️ Welcome offer details vary by source
Best for: punters who want Kenya’s biggest betting brand with jackpots, casino and an easy M-Pesa flow.

3. Odibets review: newly licensed and built for mobile

★★★★½8.7/10
🪪 Licences: GRAK/2026/BK955335 (bookmaker) and GRAK/2026/PG608718 (public gambling), both signed 2 Oct 2026, per court filings
🏢 Company: Kareco Holdings Limited
📲 Paybill: 290680
🎁 Promo: Zoza na Odibets App, up to KES 50,000 weekly

What’s new in 2026

Odibets is a Kenyan-owned bookmaker run by Kareco Holdings Limited, which held three licence entries on the GRA’s 2025/26 list. The same 12 October court application that covers Betika lists two new Odibets licences under the 2026 numbering, a bookmaker licence and a public gambling licence, both signed on 2 October 2026. The applicant also says the licence numbers appeared on the Odibets website on 8 October and had been removed by 9 October. As with Betika, these are claims in court papers that the court hadn’t ruled on when we checked.

🎁 Promotions

Odibets prefers ongoing rewards to a big sign-up bonus. Its “Zoza na Odibets App” promotion, launched in March 2026, pays app users weekly rewards of up to KES 50,000 for betting through the mobile app. In February 2026, it added missions, races and leaderboard tournaments to Aviator, giving crash-game players shared prize pools. We couldn’t confirm a current welcome bonus.

🎮 OdiLeague and live betting

OdiLeague is Odibets’ own virtual football league, with quick matches and familiar markets. For real sport, the app offers live betting on football, basketball, rugby and cricket, cash out and OdiTV streaming on selected matches.

💳 Payments and app

Deposit to M-Pesa paybill 290680 with your phone number as the account. The Odibets app includes tools to set betting limits, and the brand supports SMS and USSD for basic phones.

✅ Pros

  • ✅ New 2026 licences reported in court records
  • ✅ OdiLeague virtual football
  • ✅ Weekly app rewards up to KES 50,000
  • ✅ SMS and USSD for basic phones

⚠️ Cons

  • ⚠️ Pending court application mentions its licences
  • ⚠️ No welcome bonus we could confirm
Best for: low-stake mobile punters who enjoy virtuals and Aviator and prefer recurring rewards.

4. JuiceBet review: the strongest brand-new sportsbook

★★★★☆8.4/10
🛡️ Licence: BCLB approval for Gamma Gaming’s JuiceBet licence (2025); 2026 status not yet confirmed
🌐 Site: juicebet.co.ke
📲 Payments: M-Pesa deposits and withdrawals
🔁 Promo: up to 10% weekly cashback, Juicy Boosts

What’s new

JuiceBet is the most credible genuinely new sportsbook we found in Kenya. It’s run by Gamma Gaming and built on Sportingtech’s Quantum platform, the B2B technology that previously powered 888AFRICA’s expansion. SBC News and iGaming Expert reported in August 2025 that the BCLB had approved Gamma Gaming’s licence for JuiceBet a couple of weeks before launch, and Sportingtech sent a four-week market activation team to Kenya to support go-live. Kenya is the first phase of a wider African rollout.

Because JuiceBet’s licence was issued under the old regime, we couldn’t confirm its 2026 GRA status. Check the GRA register once it’s published.

⚽ Sportsbook and casino

JuiceBet covers the Champions League, Premier League, La Liga and Kenya’s FKF Premier League, according to Capital FM. The casino has hundreds of games, including blackjack, poker, slots and roulette, plus live dealer tables. Crash-game fans get Aviator, Aviatrix and JetX.

🔁 Promotions

The headline promotion is weekly cashback: every Monday, JuiceBet pays up to 10% of your net losses from the previous Monday-to-Sunday period, and its head of marketing describes the cashback as real, withdrawable money. Weekly “Juicy Boosts” add enhanced odds on selected multibets. JuiceBet also advertises a welcome bonus, but the figures we found came from a paid promotional feature rather than an independent review, so we don’t quote them.

💳 Payments and mobile

M-Pesa is the main payment method for deposits and withdrawals. The platform is built mobile-first; we couldn’t confirm a dedicated app, so expect to use the mobile site.

✅ Pros

  • ✅ Genuinely new brand with BCLB approval
  • ✅ Backed by an established platform provider
  • ✅ Withdrawable weekly cashback up to 10%
  • ✅ FKF Premier League plus top European leagues

⚠️ Cons

  • ⚠️ 2026 licence status not yet confirmed
  • ⚠️ Shorter track record than established brands
  • ⚠️ No paybill or app we could confirm
Best for: punters who want to try a new Kenyan sportsbook with a casino, Aviator and a simple weekly cashback.

🧪 How we rank new betting sites in Kenya

New betting sites usually compete on big promises: huge bonuses, tiny minimum stakes, “instant” withdrawals. In 2026 Kenya, the most important question comes first: can you show us a licence? Here’s how we weigh each factor.

  • 35%
🪪 Licence evidence. A 2026 GRA licence number shown by the operator or recorded in court papers scores highest. A licence approval reported by independent industry media comes next. Affiliate listings and sponsored articles alone don’t count.
  • 20%
📲 Payments. M-Pesa deposits and withdrawals through the operator’s own paybill, plus Airtel Money and bank options where available.
  • 20%
⚽ Products. Football depth (including the FKF Premier League), live betting, jackpots, virtuals, casino and crash games.
  • 10%
🎁 Promotions. Only offers confirmed by independent reporting or the operator’s own announcements, judged on fairness and clarity.
  • 10%
📱 Mobile experience. Apps, light versions and SMS/USSD options for basic phones.
  • 5%
🧘 Responsible gambling. Deposit and betting limits, self-exclusion and clear 18+ checks.
ℹ️ Our scores are editorial judgements based on these criteria and on publicly available information. Because Kenya’s 2026 register wasn’t published when we checked, we’ll re-score every brand once it is.

Betting is legal in Kenya when you use a licensed operator and you’re 18 or older. What has changed is who licenses operators and how. If you’re looking at new betting sites, these are the rules that matter.

From the BCLB to the GRA

The Gambling Control Act, 2025 was signed on 7 August 2025 and came into force on 26 August 2025. It repealed the Betting, Lotteries and Gaming Act of 1966 and replaced the Betting Control and Licensing Board with the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya. Online bookmaking, online casino and online lottery are now separate licence classes, licensees must be Kenyan-registered companies with at least 30% of shares held by Kenyan citizens, and gambling money must be banked with a Kenyan institution.

The 2026 regulations

Detailed regulations were published at the end of June 2026 and took effect from 1 July. They require operators to check your identity, age and location before your account is activated and before your first deposit, to offer daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits, and to connect their systems to the GRA’s real-time monitoring and the national self-exclusion register. Player data must be stored on servers in Kenya unless the GRA grants an exemption.

For the first time, the software behind online betting needs a licence too. Applicants must name a licensed platform, domain and games provider, and attach their supplier agreements. Random number generators need certification from an accredited independent lab. For players, that means new sites now have to show the regulator exactly whose technology they run on.

The licensing round and the court case

The GRA reopened licence applications on 18 August 2026 and set 24 September 2026 as the end date for licences issued under the old law. The new fees are steep: KES 5 million to apply and KES 50 million for an online bookmaker or online casino licence. A judicial review (JR E251 of 2026) challenged the fees and capital requirements. The High Court first stayed the regulations in July, narrowed the stay in August, and later let the GRA process applications and collect fees on an undertaking to refund them if the court finds them unlawful. Judgment expected on 2 October 2026 wasn’t delivered, and the case was listed for mention on 12 October.

In September, the court said its status-quo orders were meant to prevent operators’ paybills being switched off while the case continues. In practice, most established bookmakers kept trading through the transition.

Rules that protect you

  • The minimum online stake is KES 20, set in the Act itself.
  • Credit cards are banned for gambling; debit cards, bank transfers and mobile money are allowed.
  • Virtual assets such as crypto are prohibited for gambling unless the GRA approves them.
  • Winnings must be credited to your account within two days.
  • Gambling ads need prior GRA approval and can’t run on TV or radio between 06:00 and 22:00 except during live sport, and they must carry the operator’s licence number.
⚠️ In April 2025 the BCLB told Safaricom to suspend the paybills of more than 50 platforms operating without approval, including crash-game sites such as Cheza Crash, Skai Crash and Aviator 254, and the betting site Vuma Bet. Investigators said these sites took deposits by paybill or STK push and then withheld payouts. New, unlicensed sites are the biggest risk in Kenyan betting.

What signing up looks like under the 2026 rules

If you open an account at any licensed site this year, new or old, expect a slightly longer sign-up than before. Under the Conduct of Gambling Operations Regulations, the operator has to confirm who you are, how old you are and where you are before your account is activated and before your first deposit. Children may not register at all. When you win, the operator must check your identity again and confirm you aren’t on the self-exclusion register before it pays out.

You’ll also be asked to choose deposit limits. Operators have to offer daily, weekly and monthly limits, and a site that skips this step isn’t following the new rules. These checks can feel slow, but they are exactly what separates a licensed bookmaker from the crash-game sites that took deposits and withheld payouts in 2025.

New brand or newly licensed: which should you choose?

There’s no single right answer, but the trade-offs are clear. A newly licensed established bookmaker gives you a long track record, known paybills, proven payouts and products such as big jackpots that take years to build. The downside is that you’ll rarely get a generous sign-up offer, because these brands don’t need to buy new customers.

A genuinely new brand has to work harder to win you over. That can mean cashback, odds boosts and fresher apps. The risks are higher, though: a shorter track record, less certainty about licence status during the 2026 transition and, at the smaller end of the market, sites that go offline without warning. If you do try a new brand, start small, test a withdrawal early and keep the bulk of your betting money at an operator you already trust.

🏛️ Choose newly licensed if…

  • You want the safest option during the licensing transition.
  • Jackpots like the Mega Jackpot or Grand Jackpot matter to you.
  • You bet regularly and need reliable M-Pesa payouts.
  • You use a basic phone and need SMS or USSD.

🚀 Choose a new brand if…

  • You want ongoing value such as weekly cashback.
  • You’re happy to start with a small deposit.
  • You want a casino and crash games alongside the sportsbook.
  • You’ll check its GRA status once the register is published.

🧾 Betting tax in Kenya 2026

New sites and old ones charge the same taxes, because they’re set by law. Here’s what you pay as a punter.

📥

5% excise on deposits

Excise duty of 5% is charged on the amount you deposit. Deposit KES 1,000 and KES 950 reaches your betting wallet. From 1 July 2026, the base also covers money converted into chips, tokens or credits.

📤

5% on withdrawals

Withholding tax of 5% applies to amounts the operator pays out to your account when you withdraw.

🎟️

20% on lotteries

Lottery and prize competition winnings carry 20% withholding tax. Operators also pay 15% betting tax on gross gaming revenue.

ℹ️ If a new site advertises “no tax”, be careful. Licensed operators in Kenya must apply these deductions, so a site that doesn’t may not be licensed.

📲 Paying with M-Pesa safely at new betting sites

Almost every Kenyan punter pays with M-Pesa, and that’s exactly where scams at new sites begin. Here’s what we confirmed for the brands in our ranking and how to protect yourself.

📲

Confirmed paybills

SportPesa 955100, Betika 290290 and Odibets 290680. JuiceBet takes M-Pesa deposits and withdrawals; copy its payment details from inside your account.

🔴

Airtel Money and bank

Betika and SportPesa accept Airtel Money, and Betika also offers bank transfer.

#️⃣

SMS and USSD

SportPesa takes jackpot entries by SMS to 79079, and Odibets supports SMS and USSD for basic phones.

🚫

Not allowed

Credit cards, and crypto unless the GRA approves it. A new site pushing crypto deposits to Kenyan players is a warning sign.

⚠️ Scammers share fake “new paybill” numbers on WhatsApp and TikTok. Always copy the paybill from the operator’s own app or website, and check that your M-Pesa confirmation names the bookmaker. If it shows a person’s name, you’ve paid the wrong account.

✅ How to check a new betting site in Kenya

Use this checklist before you register at any new bookmaker. It takes five minutes and can save your whole deposit.

  1. Find the licence statement. Scroll to the footer of the site. A licensed operator shows its company name and licence number; new 2026 GRA licences use the format GRAK/2026/BK… for bookmakers and GRAK/2026/PG… for public gambling.
  2. Check it with the GRA. Look up the company on gra.go.ke. If the 2026 register isn’t online yet, call the GRA’s toll-free line on 0800 723 770 or email info@bclb.go.ke and ask.
  3. Search the name for warnings. Check whether the brand or its paybill has appeared in BCLB or GRA suspension notices.
  4. Verify the paybill. Only use the paybill shown inside your account, and make sure the M-Pesa confirmation names the operator.
  5. Test with a small deposit. Deposit a small amount, place a bet and request a withdrawal. The law says winnings must reach your account within two days.
  6. Set limits first. Licensed operators must let you set daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits. If a site doesn’t, walk away.

🚩 Red flags at new betting sites

🚩 Warning signs

  • No company name or licence number in the footer.
  • Payment to a personal M-Pesa number or an unexplained paybill.
  • “Guaranteed” wins, investment language or “earn daily” claims.
  • Crypto-only deposits for Kenyan players.
  • No KYC at all before you can deposit.
  • Bonuses far larger than anything licensed rivals offer.

✅ Good signs

  • A licence number you can match with the GRA.
  • A paybill registered to the operator’s company.
  • ID, age and location checks before your first deposit.
  • Deposit limits and self-exclusion in your account settings.
  • Clear written terms for every promotion.
  • Independent press coverage of the launch, not just sponsored posts.

Several small sites launched since 2025 have already gone quiet. One betting-site tracker logged outages through 2026 at brands including Mulabet, Tigonbet, Millionsbet and Swiftbet, and reported that Betlion stopped working in February 2026 and moved to Bandabets, while Kilibet suspended its Kenyan operations. Money left in a site that disappears can be very hard to recover, which is why we keep balances at new sites small.

🧘 Responsible gambling in Kenya

Gambling is addictive. Bet only what you can afford to lose, never treat betting as income, and stop if it stops being fun. Kenya’s Ministry of Health has described rising gambling addiction, especially among young people, as an emerging public health threat.

Warning signs

  • Thinking about betting all the time or planning the next slip.
  • Chasing losses or borrowing money to bet.
  • Hiding betting from family or lying about how much you spend.
  • Betting to escape stress or bad feelings.
  • Missing work, school or family commitments because of betting.

Tools that help

Licensed operators must offer deposit limits and self-exclusion and must check the national self-exclusion register. Through the GRA you can self-exclude from gambling operators for a period typically from 6 months to 5 years by visiting the GRA offices or emailing support@bclb.go.ke. You’ll be removed from marketing lists, and you can’t end the exclusion early.

Where to get support

The GRA runs a free toll-free line on 0800 723 770 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm). The Ministry of Health has set up a helpline, 719, for people affected by gambling addiction. The free one2one 1190 hotline is listed for gambling concerns, and you can find other free, confidential services at Find A Helpline.

🔞 18+ only. Never let anyone under 18 use your betting account or your M-Pesa line.

❓ Frequently asked questions

What are the best new betting sites in Kenya in 2026?

Our top picks for October 2026 are SportPesa, Betika and Odibets, which are reported to hold licences issued under the new 2026 GRA numbering, and JuiceBet, the strongest brand-new sportsbook, which launched in 2025 after BCLB approval.

Has the GRA published a list of 2026 licensed betting sites?

Not as of mid-October 2026. The GRA’s website still showed the list of licensed companies for the 2025/26 trading period, and licences issued under the old law were set to end on 24 September 2026. Check gra.go.ke or call 0800 723 770 for the latest status.

Which betting sites have new 2026 GRA licences?

SportPesa displays bookmaker licence GRAK/2026/BK185751 on its website. Court filings reported on 13 October 2026 list 2026 licences for Betika (GRAK/2026/PG592241 and GRAK/2026/BK337947) and Odibets (GRAK/2026/BK955335 and GRAK/2026/PG608718). The same filings question the timing of these licences, and the court hadn’t ruled on that when we checked.

Is JuiceBet legit in Kenya?

JuiceBet is run by Gamma Gaming and built on Sportingtech’s platform. Industry media reported in August 2025 that the BCLB approved its Kenyan licence before launch. We couldn’t confirm its 2026 GRA status yet, so check the GRA register before depositing.

Is BC.GAME licensed in Kenya?

Its local entity, Blockdance Africa Limited, received BCLB public gaming and bookmaker licences in 2025, according to industry media. Kenya’s new law prohibits virtual assets for gambling unless the GRA approves them, and we couldn’t confirm a 2026 licence, so we don’t rank BC.GAME.

Who regulates betting in Kenya now?

The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya (GRA). It replaced the Betting Control and Licensing Board under the Gambling Control Act, 2025, which came into force on 26 August 2025.

How much tax do I pay at new betting sites in Kenya?

The same as at any licensed site: 5% excise duty on deposits and 5% withholding tax on withdrawals. Lottery and prize competition winnings carry 20% withholding tax.

What is the minimum bet at Kenyan betting sites?

The Gambling Control Act sets a minimum online stake of KES 20. A site advertising bets below that may not be following the new rules.

How do I know if a new betting site is fake?

Warning signs include no company name or licence number, payment to a personal M-Pesa number, investment-style promises, crypto-only deposits and no identity checks. In April 2025 the BCLB had the paybills of more than 50 such platforms suspended.

Can I self-exclude from all betting sites in Kenya?

Yes. You can self-exclude through the GRA for a period typically from 6 months to 5 years by visiting its offices or emailing support@bclb.go.ke. Licensed operators must check the national self-exclusion register.

🚫 Brands we left out of this ranking

Here’s why some names you’ll see advertised as new betting sites in Kenya aren’t in our ranking.

  • BC.GAME: crypto-first product, while the new law prohibits virtual assets for gambling unless approved; no 2026 licence confirmed.
  • Yellowbet, Mulabet, Playa Bets and BetKumi: no independent confirmation of a Kenyan licence.
  • Chezagame: a platform called “Cheza game” was on the BCLB’s April 2025 suspension list, and we couldn’t confirm the current site’s status.
  • Tigonbet: reported not working since 19 August 2026.
  • 747Live: launch announcement names no Kenyan regulator or licence number.
  • 1win and the crash sites named by the BCLB in April 2025 (such as Cheza Crash, Skai Crash and Aviator 254): ordered shut down for operating without approval.
  • Betway: stopped taking deposits in Kenya in May 2023 and filed for liquidation.

🏁 Final verdict: the best new betting sites in Kenya

2026 is a reset year for Kenyan betting. A new regulator, new rules and a new licence round mean that “new” can describe an established bookmaker with a fresh licence just as much as a brand-new site. Because the GRA’s 2026 register wasn’t published when we checked, we only recommend brands with real licence evidence.

For most punters, SportPesa is the best choice among the new betting sites in Kenya: it displays a 2026 GRA licence and offers the KES 99 Mega Jackpot. Betika and Odibets are also reported to hold new 2026 licences, with a pending court application to watch. If you want to try a genuinely new brand, JuiceBet is the most credible newcomer, with BCLB approval, M-Pesa and weekly cashback.

Whichever site you choose, check the licence, copy the paybill from inside the app, keep balances small at newer sites and set your limits before your first bet.
