The 2025/26 licences

Mozzartbet Kenya Limited held a bookmaker licence (BK 0001188) and a public gaming licence (PG 0001189) on Kenya’s 2025/26 register, which AffSupreme checked earlier in 2026. Paybillke reports that Mozzart still states these numbers on its site, issued by the BCLB, and Betting Companies Africa and WagerScope cite the same numbers. WagerScope adds that it believes the old licences remain valid until renewal under the GRA; the GRA itself said licences on the 2025/26 list remained valid only until 24 September 2026, iGaming Times reported.

Kenya’s 2026 licensing round

• New law: the Gambling Control Act 2025 replaced the BCLB with the Gambling Regulatory Authority, and new regulations came into force in July 2026.
• Fees challenged: in Judicial Review E251 of 2026, the High Court stayed the licensing regulations in July, narrowed the stay in August, and on 21 August let the GRA process applications and collect fees, refunding any later found unlawful.
• Pending applications: 246 were pending in August; applications reopened on 18 August.
• No register yet: as of 14 October 2026, the GRA hadn’t published a register of 2026 licences.

iGaming Times lists Mozzartbet Kenya Limited among Kenya’s notable licensees, but doesn’t say whether it holds a licence under the 2026 regime. We found no reports of regulatory action against Mozzart Bet in Kenya.

A note on Mozzartbet in Nigeria

Mozzart operates in several countries, and the rules differ in each. In Nigeria, for example, a Lagos High Court ruled in 2026 that Mozzartbet’s online operations accessible in Lagos were unlicensed and imposed a ₦500,000 fine, the Lagos regulator reported. That case concerns Nigeria, not Mozzartbet Kenya Limited, but it’s a reminder to check the licence for your own country.
