Best Airtel Money Casinos in Africa (2026): Licensed Picks for Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania
Looking for the best Airtel Money casinos in Africa? Airtel Money is one of the continent’s biggest mobile wallets, and it’s accepted by many casino and betting sites. But many “Airtel Money casino” lists online include offshore brands with no local licence. This ranking is different: every casino below accepts Airtel Money and appears on the regulator’s register in the country where we recommend it, with a casino licence wherever the regulator issues one.
We focus on Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, the East African markets where Airtel Money is widely used and where we checked casino licences in October 2026. For each pick, you’ll find the licence, how Airtel Money deposits and withdrawals work, minimums, game range, pros and cons, plus the brands we left out and why.

🧪 How we ranked the best Airtel Money casinos
Every casino had to pass three tests before we scored it:
A local licence. The operator appears on the regulator’s register or list in the country where we recommend it: the Gambling Regulatory Authority (Kenya), the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (Uganda) or the Gaming Board of Tanzania.
A casino licence where one exists. Uganda issues separate casino licences with “CS” numbers, Tanzania with “OC” or “OCL” numbers, and Kenya with public gaming (“PG”) licences on the 2025/26 register.
Confirmed Airtel Money. A reliable source lists Airtel Money in the casino’s cashier for that country.
Then we compared them on:
30%
🛡️ Licence and safety. Register status, casino licence and player protection.
25%
📲 Airtel Money experience. Minimums, speed, fees and withdrawals back to Airtel.
20%
🎰 Casino games. Library size, providers, live dealer and transparency.
15%
🎁 Bonuses. Value and fairness of the terms.
10%
💬 Support and tools. Support channels, limits and self-exclusion.
⚖️ Are Airtel Money casinos legal?
Airtel Money itself is just a wallet. Whether a casino is legal depends on its licence in your country.
🇰🇪 Kenya: the Gambling Control Act 2025 includes an online gambling licence covering online casinos, according to law firm CM Advocates, and 2026 regulations require online casinos to use licensed software suppliers with RNG certificates from accredited labs, Techweez reported. Old-regime licences remained valid until 24 September 2026, and the GRA hadn’t published its 2026 register by mid-October.
🇺🇬 Uganda: the NLGRB’s 2026 list includes separate online casino (“CS”) licences. Anyone under 25 counts as a minor for gambling. Since 1 July 2025, betting payments must go through a Bank of Uganda-licensed gateway linked to the Uganda Revenue Authority, and a 15% withholding tax on net winnings applies from 1 July 2026.
🇹🇿 Tanzania: the Gaming Board licenses online casinos separately from sports betting and publishes an online register of operators. It reported 62 licensed operators in September 2025.
⚠️ An offshore casino that accepts Airtel Money isn’t legal just because the payment goes through. Without a local licence, you have no regulator to complain to if your winnings aren’t paid.
22Bet is the most complete Airtel Money casino in our ranking. In Uganda, it holds both a betting and an online casino licence on the 2026 list, and its own October 2026 guide explains Airtel deposits in detail: choose Airtel Money in the cashier, enter the amount and your number, and approve with your PIN, or pay through *185# if no prompt appears. Deposits usually arrive within seconds, or up to five minutes at busy times, and 22Bet charges no fee of its own. Withdrawals go back to the Airtel wallet you deposited from.
In Kenya, Nuntis Holdings held bookmaker and public gaming licences on the 2025/26 register, and ChampsBase lists M-Pesa, Airtel Money and cards. The casino has more than 1,000 games from 80+ providers, according to Pulse and Soccernet’s reviews of 22Bet’s African sites, though ChampsBase found no published RTPs or named testing lab.
✅ Pros
✅ Casino licences in two Airtel markets
✅ Detailed, official Airtel Money guide
✅ No 22Bet deposit fee
✅ 1,000+ games
⚠️ Cons
⚠️ Not licensed in Tanzania
⚠️ No published RTPs
⚠️ Prompts can be unstable at peak times
Best for: Ugandan and Kenyan players who want a big casino with a straightforward Airtel Money cashier.
betPawa is built for low-cost mobile play. In Tanzania, it’s mobile money only, with M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money and HaloPesa, deposits from TZS 100, stakes from TZS 1 and a 2.2 MB Android app, and Blask data put it far ahead of rivals by estimated online revenue in the year to May 2026. In Uganda, Chop Gaming holds betting and online casino licences on the 2026 list, and betPawa accepts MTN and Airtel Money.
There’s no traditional welcome bonus. Instead, betPawa’s Win Bonus adds to the winnings of qualifying accumulators, with no wagering requirement on the boost.
✅ Pros
✅ Casino licences in Uganda and Tanzania
✅ Deposits from TZS 100
✅ Very light app
⚠️ Cons
⚠️ No welcome bonus
⚠️ Smaller casino focus than sports
Best for: players who want to test the Airtel Money process with tiny amounts.
🛡️ Licences: Ultimate Gaming System Ltd, SBI000000012 / OCL000000004
🎰 Games: 6,000+, including live dealer
💳 Deposits: from TZS 500
💸 Withdrawals: TZS 2,000 – 5,000,000 per request
Parimatch launched in Tanzania in 2022 and holds an online casino licence alongside its sports betting licence. Its casino is the largest in our ranking, with more than 6,000 games including live dealer titles, and it accepts M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, HaloPesa and Airtel Money without platform fees of its own. Its TZS 5,000,000 maximum withdrawal per request is high for the market.
The first-deposit offer goes up to TZS 1,000,000, but it carries a 10x wagering requirement within seven days, which is steep.
✅ Pros
✅ 6,000+ casino games
✅ High withdrawal limit
✅ Apps for Android, iOS and Huawei
⚠️ Cons
⚠️ Steep bonus wagering
⚠️ Tanzania only in our ranking
Best for: Tanzanian casino players who want the most choice.
🛡️ Licences: Media Bay Ltd, SBI000000037 / OC000000019
🎰 Games: 400+, live tables from Evolution and Pragmatic Play, Aviator
💸 Withdrawals: from TZS 1,000, up to TZS 1,000,000 a day
💬 Support: 24/7 live chat in English and Swahili
Betway, owned by NYSE-listed Super Group, holds both sports betting and online casino licences in Tanzania. Its casino is smaller than Parimatch’s but polished, with live dealer tables from Evolution and Pragmatic Play and Aviator. It accepts M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Tigo Pesa and HaloPesa, plus EzyPesa and Selcom Huduma, and doesn’t charge deposit fees. Withdrawals above TZS 1,000,000 require full KYC verification.
✅ Pros
✅ 24/7 chat in English and Swahili
✅ Evolution live casino
✅ NYSE-listed owner
⚠️ Cons
⚠️ Smaller game library
⚠️ TZS 1,000,000 daily withdrawal cap
Best for: players who value support and live dealer games.
🛡️ Kenya: Shop and Deliver Ltd, BK 0001117 / PG 0001113 (2025/26)
🛡️ Uganda: Sportive Ltd, on the 2026 list for betting and casino
📲 Kenya paybill: 290290
🎰 Casino: Pragmatic Play slots, Evolution live casino, game shows, Aviator
Betika is one of East Africa’s best-known brands. In Kenya, it held a public gaming licence on the 2025/26 register, and Kenyan reviewers list Airtel Money for deposits: pay paybill 290290 from *334#, with your registered number or “BETIKA” as the account. In Uganda, Sportive Ltd is on the 2026 list for general betting and casino, with MTN and Airtel Money and phone support from 7am to midnight. Its casino includes Pragmatic Play slots and Evolution live tables, and it lets you set deposit limits yourself.
Two caveats: Kenya’s 2026 licence register hasn’t been published, and 2026 reporting linked Betika to allegations about leaked customer data, with no finding against it.
✅ Pros
✅ Licensed in both Kenya and Uganda
✅ Self-service deposit limits
✅ Evolution live casino
⚠️ Cons
⚠️ Airtel fee on Kenyan paybill payments
⚠️ Open regulatory questions in Kenya
Best for: players who want a familiar local brand for sports and casino.
Gal Sport Betting holds betting, lottery and online casino licences on Uganda’s 2026 list. It accepts MTN and Airtel Money, offers USSD betting and lets you deposit cash in its shops, a useful mix if you sometimes prefer to pay in person. Its welcome bonus is a 100% match up to UGX 500,000 with three rollovers at odds of 3.0. ChampsBase noted a 72-hour window to raise mobile money issues, so report any missing deposit quickly. GSB also accepts Airtel Money in Tanzania, including through *150*60#, though we only confirmed a sports betting licence there.
✅ Pros
✅ Casino licence in Uganda
✅ Shop deposits plus Airtel Money
✅ Toll-free support line
⚠️ Cons
⚠️ 72-hour window for payment issues
⚠️ Bonus needs odds of 3.0
Best for: Ugandan players who mix online play with visits to a shop.
1xBet’s Kenyan site, run by Advanced Gaming Ltd, held bookmaker and public gaming licences on the 2025/26 register, and Paybillke’s guide explains how to pay it from Airtel Money: dial *334#, choose Make Payments and Paybill, and enter the paybill and account details shown in the 1xBet cashier. It suits players who want a very wide range of markets in one account. We rank it last because of 1xBet’s controversial international record, including a UK licence revoked in 2019, which some players will want to weigh. Use only the local .co.ke site.
✅ Pros
✅ Huge range of betting markets
✅ Airtel Money via paybill
⚠️ Cons
⚠️ Controversial international record
⚠️ 2026 Kenyan licence not yet on a published register
Best for: Kenyan players who want maximum choice and accept the trade-offs.

🎰 What you can play
The casinos in our ranking offer the same main categories:
Slots: video slots from providers such as Pragmatic Play, from penny stakes upwards.
Live dealer: roulette, blackjack, baccarat and game shows such as Crazy Time, streamed from studios like Evolution (Betway Tanzania, Betika and 22Bet).
Crash games: Aviator and similar games, where you cash out before a multiplier crashes.
Virtual sports: quick-fire virtual football and other events at several sites.
⚠️ Every casino game has a house edge, and results are random. Many East African sites don’t publish RTPs, so check each game’s information screen, set a budget and avoid “predictor” apps, which are scams.
📲 How to deposit with Airtel Money (quick version)
Open the cashier on a licensed site and choose Airtel Money.
Enter the amount and your Airtel number.
Approve the prompt with your PIN.
No prompt? Use USSD: *334# in Kenya (Make Payments → Paybill), *185# in Uganda (Make Payments → Pay Bill) or *150*60# in Tanzania where the site supports it.
Keep the transaction ID and wait for your balance. Never pay twice.
For full step-by-step instructions, fees, limits and troubleshooting for each country, see our guide to depositing with Airtel Money at online casinos.
🚫 Airtel Money casinos we left out, and why
Many lists of “Airtel Money casinos” include brands that accept the wallet but hold no licence in the country where you’re playing. We excluded these and others:
Brand
Reason
Yukon Gold Casino, Betandyou
Listed elsewhere as Airtel Money casinos, but we found no licence from the Kenyan, Ugandan or Tanzanian regulator
Melbet (Uganda)
No longer authorised from 1 January 2026
BetWinner (Uganda)
Not on the regulator’s list in May 2026
22Bet, Melbet, bet365, Stake (Tanzania)
Not on the Gaming Board of Tanzania’s online register
Odibets (Kenya)
Licensed, but ChampsBase found it accepting M-Pesa only in its August 2026 test
Bongo Bongo (Uganda)
Holds a casino licence (CS-26-0207), but we found MTN only listed for payments
SportPesa (Kenya)
Accepts Airtel Money and has a casino section, but we couldn’t confirm a separate casino licence
WasafiBet (Tanzania)
Accepts Airtel Money and offers 462 casino games, but we only confirmed a sports betting licence (SBI000000028)
Bangbet (Uganda)
Holds a casino licence (CS-26-0251), but we couldn’t confirm Airtel Money specifically in its gateway
If a brand you use isn’t here, check the regulator’s register yourself before depositing.
🌍 Airtel Money in other African countries
Airtel Money also operates in countries including Zambia, Malawi, Rwanda, DR Congo, Madagascar, Gabon, Chad, Niger and Congo, according to SlotCatalog. We haven’t checked casino licences in those markets yet, so we don’t rank sites there. If you live in one of them, look for a casino licensed by your national regulator, and avoid offshore sites that accept Airtel Money without a local licence.
💸 Withdrawing to Airtel Money
Verify your identity with your national ID or passport before your first withdrawal.
Match the names on your casino account and Airtel wallet.
Use the same number you deposited from; 22Bet, for example, pays back through the method you used to deposit.
Choose Airtel Money on the withdrawal page, enter the amount and confirm.
Expect checks on large amounts: Betway Tanzania requires full KYC above TZS 1,000,000.
In Kenya, the Gambling Control Act requires winnings to be paid within two days.
🧾 Tax on casino winnings
Country
What we found
🇺🇬 Uganda
15% withholding tax on net winnings from 1 July 2026; a 0.5% excise duty when you cash out from your wallet at an agent (LiveScore)
🇹🇿 Tanzania
Tax withheld on winnings; sources disagree on the 2026 rate, so check your account
🇰🇪 Kenya
Taxes on deposits or stakes and on payouts; sources describe the rates differently, so check the deductions on your account
🎁 Casino bonuses and Airtel Money
Most bonuses are triggered by your first deposit, whichever wallet you use. Before you opt in, check:
Wagering: Parimatch Tanzania’s first-deposit offer carries 10x wagering within seven days; GSB Uganda’s needs three rollovers at odds of 3.0.
Game restrictions: casino bonuses often count only on certain slots.
Alternatives to bonuses: betPawa skips the welcome bonus and adds a Win Bonus to winning accumulators, with no wagering on the boost.
🔒 Staying safe
Copy payment numbers only from the casino’s own cashier, and check the recipient name before entering your PIN.
Never share your Airtel Money PIN or one-time codes.
Make one deposit attempt at a time, and keep the transaction ID.
Use a wallet in your own name.
Report problems fast: GSB Uganda allows 72 hours to raise mobile money issues.
💡 Tips for Airtel Money casino players
Test first. Deposit a small amount and request a small withdrawal before playing with more.
Deposit before peak times. 22Bet warns that prompts can be unstable around big weekend fixtures.
Plan your deposits. In Kenya, every Airtel paybill payment carries a fee, so one planned deposit costs less than several small ones.
Set limits. Use deposit limits and session reminders, and set a separate, smaller budget for fast games like Aviator.
🧮 What Airtel Money casino deposits really cost
The casinos in our ranking charge no deposit fee of their own in the cases we could confirm (22Bet Uganda says 0%, and Parimatch Tanzania doesn’t charge either). The cost comes from Airtel’s side, and it varies a lot by country.
🇰🇪 Kenya: Airtel Money to a paybill
Kenyan casino sites are paid by paybill, and paying one from Airtel Money carries a fee on a sliding scale. Paybillke published these bands in August 2026:
Amount (KES)
Airtel fee (KES)
101 – 500
7
501 – 1,000
13
1,001 – 2,500
23 – 33
2,501 – 5,000
53 – 57
5,001 – 10,000
78 – 90
10,001 – 20,000
100 – 105
20,001 – 250,000
108
In practice, a KES 1,000 deposit to Betika or 1xBet needs KES 1,013 in your Airtel wallet. Five deposits of KES 200 cost KES 35 in fees, while a single KES 1,000 deposit costs KES 13. If you play regularly, fewer, planned deposits are cheaper, as long as you stay within the budget you set before you started.
🇺🇬 Uganda: fees, tax and cash-out duty
In Uganda, the Airtel charge is shown on your phone before you enter your PIN. Two other deductions matter more for casino players:
15% withholding tax on net winnings from 1 July 2026. LiveScore’s example: on a UGX 40,000 net win, UGX 6,000 is withheld, so UGX 34,000 reaches your account.
0.5% excise duty when you cash out of your mobile money wallet at an agent, again according to LiveScore. Withdrawing UGX 100,000 to cash would cost UGX 500 in duty, before Airtel’s own agent fee.
🇹🇿 Tanzania: small deposits, small risk
Tanzania is the easiest market for testing a casino with very little money. betPawa accepts deposits from TZS 100 and stakes from TZS 1, and Parimatch from TZS 500. The Airtel fee, if any, appears before you approve the prompt. Withdrawals start at TZS 2,000 at both betPawa and Parimatch, and TZS 1,000 at Betway.
📏 Limits you’ll meet
Every Airtel Money casino payment passes through two sets of limits: the casino’s, and your wallet’s. Your Airtel wallet’s per-transaction and daily limits can be lower than the casino’s maximum, so a large deposit may be declined even when the site would accept it.
Casino

The other limits are the ones you set yourself. Kenya’s law requires operators to offer deposit, loss and session limits, and Uganda’s 2025 responsible gambling directives require limits too. At Betika, raising a deposit limit comes with a cooling-off period of 24 to 72 hours, which is exactly the point: the delay stops a bad session from turning into a bigger one.
🛠️ Airtel Money casino problems and fixes
Problem
What to do
No payment prompt appeared
Check the number in the cashier, then pay by USSD: *334# (Kenya), *185# (Uganda) or *150*60# (Tanzania, where supported)
Paid, but the casino balance hasn’t updated
Wait a few minutes, then send the Airtel transaction ID to support. Don’t pay again
Deposit still pending
Don’t retry. 22Bet suggests contacting support if nothing appears after 30 minutes
Payment declined
Check your balance including fees, your wallet limits and your signal, then make one corrected attempt
Wrong paybill (Kenya)
Contact the business with the transaction ID; if that fails, call Airtel on 100
Recipient name doesn’t match the casino
Cancel before you enter your PIN
Prompts failing on a big match day
Deposit early; 22Bet warns that prompts can be unstable around big weekend fixtures
Withdrawal stuck on “pending”
Complete identity checks, confirm the payout number and name, then contact support
Kenyan players should take extra care with paybill numbers. Paybillke lists 290681 and 290608 as scam variants of Odibets’ genuine 290680, and similar look-alike numbers circulate for other brands. Copy the number from the casino’s own deposit page every time.
🇺🇬 Uganda’s casino payment rules explained
Uganda ties online casino payments closely to tax collection. According to 22Bet’s October 2026 guide, Section 93A of the Tax Procedures Code (Amendment) Act 2025, in force since 1 July 2025, requires stakes and payouts to pass through a payment gateway licensed by the Bank of Uganda and linked to the Uganda Revenue Authority’s electronic system. Operators that don’t integrate face a penal tax of double the tax due or 5,500 currency points (UGX 110 million), whichever is higher.
For Airtel Money players, that has three practical effects:
Deposits and payouts at licensed casinos run through approved gateways, so the payment screen may show the gateway’s name rather than the casino’s. Check that the cashier sent you there.
The 15% withholding tax on net winnings is deducted automatically, so you don’t have to calculate or file it yourself.
Unlicensed sites sit outside the system. The regulator told Parliament in August 2026 that it had blocked 57 illegal sites.
Uganda also runs a national self-exclusion programme, which more than 2,000 Ugandans had used by July 2026, Focus Gaming News reported. Remember that the legal gambling age in Uganda is 25.
🇰🇪 Kenya’s 2026 casino rules
Kenya’s Gambling Control Act 2025 was followed by the Conduct of Gambling Operations Regulations, 2026 (Legal Notice 112) followed. Techweez described these measures that affect casino players:
Certified games: online casino operators must use a licensed supplier for their platform and games, and suppliers must provide a random number generator certificate from an accredited lab.
One self-exclusion for all: operators must connect to a national self-exclusion register, so excluding yourself can cover every licensed site.
Protected balances: player funds must be kept separate from the operator’s own money.
Local data: player data must be stored on servers in Kenya unless the regulator grants an exemption.
Geo-blocking: operators must keep to the markets they’re licensed for.
The Act itself requires winnings to be paid within two days, sets the minimum online stake at KES 20, and bans credit cards and cryptocurrency for gambling. That makes mobile money, mainly M-Pesa and Airtel Money, the standard way to fund a Kenyan casino account.
ℹ️ The GRA hadn’t published its 2026 licence register by mid-October 2026, and old-regime licences remained valid until 24 September 2026. That’s why our Kenyan picks carry 2025/26 licence numbers.
🧪 Your first Airtel Money casino session: a safe test run
Before you trust any new casino with real money, run a small test. It shows you how the cashier, the Airtel prompt and the payout process work, and it costs very little.
Confirm the licence. Find the casino on your regulator’s register and note the licence number shown on its site.
Set your limits first. Add a deposit limit and a session reminder in your account settings before your first deposit.
Deposit the minimum. TZS 100 at betPawa Tanzania, TZS 500 at Parimatch or UGX 1,000 at 22Bet Uganda is enough to test the cashier.
Keep the receipt. Save the Airtel confirmation SMS and transaction ID until the balance appears.
Complete verification. Upload your national ID or passport straight away, rather than waiting for your first win.
Request a small withdrawal. Withdraw to the same Airtel number and check how long it takes to arrive.
Decide afterwards. Only deposit more if the whole cycle worked smoothly and support answered your questions.
If anything goes wrong during the test, such as a missing deposit, a payout blocked for unclear reasons or a recipient name that doesn’t match the casino, stop there and contact support with your transaction ID. A licensed casino that can’t handle a minimum deposit and withdrawal won’t handle a bigger one any better.
📱 Airtel Money vs M-Pesa, MTN, cards and crypto
Country
Main alternatives
When Airtel Money makes sense
🇰🇪 Kenya
M-Pesa; cards and crypto are banned for gambling
If Airtel is your main line; budget for the paybill fee
🇺🇬 Uganda
MTN Mobile Money; some licensed sites take cards, bank transfer or crypto
If Airtel is your main wallet; compare fees and agent access with MTN
🇹🇿 Tanzania
M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, HaloPesa
If Airtel is your main wallet; all three of our Tanzanian picks accept it
LiveScore’s advice holds everywhere: no wallet is automatically better. Use the one you already have, and if you have more than one, compare fees, limits and processing times. For most players, Airtel Money is simpler than cards or crypto, with no bank details, no exchange-rate risk and payouts straight back to the phone.
