BetPawa Review Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Zambia

Posted on 23 April 2024

betPawa Review 2026: Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and Zambia Compared (Licences, Win Bonus, Payments)

betPawa is one of the few bookmakers that is genuinely pan-African. It started in Uganda in 2014 and now runs separate country sites across East, West and Southern Africa, each operated by a local company under a local licence. It’s known for tiny minimum stakes, light apps, a Win Bonus on accumulators instead of a welcome bonus, and some of the biggest Aviator wins recorded in Africa.

This betPawa review looks at the four markets our readers ask about most: Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and Zambia. Because each betPawa site is a different business with its own licence, taxes and payment options, we score each country separately. Every fact was checked in October and November 2026, and where sources disagree, we show each version rather than guess.

Disclosure: this page contains affiliate links for betPawa Ghana, Uganda and Zambia, where we could match betPawa to a named local company and a current licence. We haven’t added links for betPawa Kenya, because Kenya’s regulator hasn’t published a 2026 licence register; this is the same approach we take for every Kenyan bookmaker. This review isn’t legal advice.

📌 betPawa at a glance

  • Group: betPawa is run by Kigali-based Mchezo Limited with technology from PawaTech, and licensed in each country through a local company, according to Citi Newsroom.
  • Ghana: on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 register for sports betting and online casino.
  • Uganda: Chop Gaming Limited, NLGRB licences BM-26-0181 (betting) and CS-26-0182 (casino); players must be 25 or over.
  • Zambia: Betbio Zambia Limited, displaying licence CL-001083/2-2026, according to Gambling Maps.
  • Kenya: Nanovas International (K) Limited, showing BK0001070 / PG0001071; Kenya’s 2026 register is unpublished.
  • Bonus: no standard welcome bonus; a Win Bonus pays extra on winning accumulators of 3 or more legs, with no wagering.
  • Payments: mobile money only, from 1 unit of local currency in Ghana and Kenya.

⭐ Our verdict: 8.1/10 overall

betPawa does the basics very well for African bettors on a budget: tiny minimums, fast mobile money, light apps and a simple, wager-free accumulator bonus. It’s held back by thin promotions beyond the Win Bonus, a narrow sportsbook, support that differs by country, and licence details that vary between sources. Scores differ by country because the licence picture differs:

✅ What we like

  • ✅ Stakes and deposits from 1 unit of local currency in several markets
  • ✅ Win Bonus with no wagering and no opt-in
  • ✅ Light apps that suit older and cheaper phones
  • ✅ Licensed through named local companies
  • ✅ Record-breaking Aviator wins, confirmed by Spribe

⚠️ What could be better

  • ⚠️ No standard welcome bonus or loyalty scheme
  • ⚠️ Narrow sportsbook and no live streaming, per TheGameHaus
  • ⚠️ Licence numbers differ between sources in Zambia
  • ⚠️ Kenya’s 2026 licence can’t be checked on a published register
  • ⚠️ Win Bonus tiers aren’t published consistently by country
⚠️ One brand, four businesses: your account, balance and protections belong to the betPawa company in your country. A betPawa Ghana account doesn’t work in Kenya, and terms that apply in Uganda (such as the 25+ age rule) don’t apply in Zambia. Always use the site for the country you live in, and check the company name in its footer.

🏢 Who runs betPawa?

betPawa’s story starts with 88mph, a seed fund founded by Danish entrepreneur Kresten Buch. In 2014, 88mph took a minority stake in a Ugandan sports betting company called Mbet, and the betPawa brand launched in Uganda the same year, according to a 2023 Citi Newsroom investigation into the company’s ownership. Kresten Buch remains Group CEO.

Today, the brand is owned and operated by Mchezo Limited, based in Kigali, Rwanda. The betting platform itself is provided by PawaTech, a company in the same group; you’ll see PawaTech named as the developer of betPawa’s Android app on Google Play. In each country, betPawa works through a locally established company that holds the local licence, which Citi Newsroom says gives local investors a stake in their markets. In Ghana, for example, the Nigerian musician and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known as Mr Eazi, was named as one of the local licence operators. In Tanzania, the regulator’s register lists Choplife Gaming as the company behind betPawa, and in Uganda the licence holder is Chop Gaming Limited.

In 2022, betPawa gave away $2 million worth of shares in Mchezo to about 200,000 loyal customers, making them shareholders, according to Citi Newsroom. In April 2023, Ntoudi Mouyelo was appointed Managing Director of Mchezo and Chief Commercial Officer of the group.

According to Citi Newsroom, betPawa launched in Uganda in 2014, Kenya in 2015, Nigeria and Zambia in 2017, and Ghana and Tanzania in 2018, and by 2023 it operated in 11 markets, also including Rwanda, Malawi, DRC, Cameroon and Benin.

That structure matters for you as a player. When you open an account on betpawa.com.gh, you’re contracting with the Ghanaian business, under Ghanaian rules. A complaint about a Ugandan withdrawal goes to Uganda’s regulator, not Ghana’s. And a licence in one country tells you nothing about the legal status of betPawa in another.

🛡️ Is betPawa licensed? Country by country

This is the most important section of this betPawa review, because the answer depends on where you live. We checked each country against its regulator’s register where one exists, and against independent reviewers’ records where it doesn’t.

Zambia

Zambia licenses bookmakers through the BCLB under the Betting Control Act (Cap. 166), but it doesn’t publish a public register, and there’s no separate online licence class, according to Gambling Maps. That means the best check available is the company and licence displayed by the operator. Gambling Maps recorded betPawa displaying CL-001083/2-2026 in October 2026. Topbets Zambia lists different numbers (Ministry of Finance 0056 and 1137, and Ministry of Tourism and Arts CL-000012/10-2023), which may be older licences. Gambling Maps also notes that betPawa refers to “the Lottery and Betting Control Board of Zambia”, a name that doesn’t match the BCLB. These are paperwork inconsistencies rather than evidence of unlicensed operation, but they’re worth knowing.

Kenya

Kenya replaced the Betting Control and Licensing Board with the GRA under the Gambling Control Act 2025. Nanovas International (K) Limited was on the 2025/26 licensed list, and betpawa.co.ke states it is licensed by the GRA with bookmaker licence BK0001070 and public gaming licence PG0001071. However, licences on the 2025/26 list remained valid only until 24 September 2026, and as of mid-October 2026 the GRA hadn’t published a register of 2026 licences. Paybill KE, which checked operator sites on 19 October 2026, also found no public GRA register. Until one is published, no Kenyan bookmaker’s 2026 licence can be independently confirmed, which is why we don’t link to betPawa Kenya. You can ask the GRA directly on 0800 723 770.

🎁 betPawa review: the Win Bonus

betPawa doesn’t run a standard deposit-match welcome bonus in any of our four markets, according to TheGameHaus, AfricaSoccer and our earlier country research. (One AfricaSoccer Uganda page mentions a welcome offer for new customers but gives no amount or terms, so we couldn’t confirm it.) Instead, its headline promotion is the Win Bonus, sometimes marketed as an ACCA Win Bonus: an extra percentage added to your winnings when an accumulator of three or more selections wins.

How the Win Bonus works

  • Minimum legs: three selections, all of which must win.
  • Size: the percentage grows with the number of legs. TheGameHaus describes a range from 3% for three legs to 1,000% for 60 legs, and lists Kenya, Uganda and Ghana among the markets where it applies. AfricaSoccer’s Ghana guide (July 2026) instead describes “up to 500% of net winnings” on betpawa.com.gh. Topbets Zambia lists up to 1,000% in Zambia.
  • Calculated on profit: AfricaSoccer’s Ghana guide says the bonus is calculated on your net winnings, not on the stake returned.
  • No wagering: the bonus is paid as real money with no rollover, no bonus wallet and no expiry, according to Paybill KE (Kenya) and AfricaSoccer (Ghana).
  • No code: AfricaSoccer and Paybill KE describe it as automatic, with no opt-in.
  • Exclusions: singles, system bets, losing and partly winning accumulators, and jackpots. Whether live selections count is unclear.
  • Minimum odds: TheGameHaus says there are none; our Tanzania research found a 1.20 minimum per leg for the Tanzanian site. Check your country’s terms.
⚠️ Tier tables differ by country and change over time. betPawa shows the current Win Bonus table on each country site. Before building a long slip, open the table for your country and check the percentage for your number of legs.

Win Bonus maths: a worked example

Suppose you stake 10 units on a five-leg accumulator with each selection at odds of 1.50. Total odds are 1.50 to the power of 5, or about 7.59, so a win returns about 75.9 units: your 10-unit stake plus about 65.9 units of profit. If your country’s table paid, say, 10% for five legs (a hypothetical figure for illustration only), the bonus would be 10% of the 65.9-unit profit, or about 6.6 units, taking the total return to about 82.5 units.

Now the catch. If each of those five selections had a 60% real chance of winning, the chance of all five winning is 0.6 to the power of 5, or under 8%. Add more legs to chase a bigger percentage and the odds of landing the slip fall fast:

Legs (each 60% likely)Chance the whole slip wins
3About 21.6%
5About 7.8%
10About 0.6%
20About 0.004%

Illustration: the chance of an accumulator winning is the product of each leg’s chance. Real probabilities vary by match.

The Win Bonus is a genuine extra on slips that win, and it has no wagering strings attached, which makes it fairer than most welcome bonuses. But it shouldn’t be the reason you add legs. Very long slips occasionally produce headlines, like a Kenyan punter’s 39-leg win in February 2026 that we cover below, but for every one of those there are many thousands of losing slips.

Other betPawa promotions

  • Pawa6: a free prediction game in Ghana, according to BetRank GH; FocusGN lists Pawa6 among betPawa’s jackpots in Uganda.
  • 1UP on Double Chance: during AFCON 2025, an eligible Double Chance bet was settled as a winner as soon as your team scored first, Zambian Football reported in December 2025.
  • Free data in Uganda: MTN Uganda subscribers get 100 MB of free data a day for the betPawa site and Android app, FocusGN reported in December 2025.
  • Jackpots: pool games on football results, run on weekdays and weekends, according to TheGameHaus.
  • No loyalty or VIP scheme: TheGameHaus found none.

🇬🇭 betPawa Ghana review: 8.5/10

betPawa Ghana: the most complete of the four

★★★★½8.5/10
🛡️ Licence: GCG 2026, sports betting and online casino
💳 Payments: MTN MoMo and AirtelTigo, GHS 1 to GHS 25,000 per deposit
🎁 Promotions: ACCA Win Bonus (up to 500% per AfricaSoccer), Pawa6
📱 App: Android 5.0+ (about 30 MB storage), iOS 12+

Why it scores highest

Ghana is betPawa’s cleanest market from a licensing point of view: the brand sits on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 register for both sports betting and online casino, so you get the full product, including Aviator, under a verified licence. The site launched in 2018, according to Citi Newsroom, and Blask named betPawa among Ghana’s leading betting brands in 2026, alongside SportyBet, Betway and MSport.

Payments are simple. AfricaSoccer (July 2026) lists deposits from GHS 1 to GHS 25,000 by MTN Mobile Money and AirtelTigo Money, arriving in under a minute with no betPawa fee. If a MoMo deposit doesn’t show, it suggests checking your MoMo balance and history with *170# before contacting support. AfricaSoccer didn’t list Telecel Cash for betPawa, so Telecel users should check the cashier before signing up.

Ghana also has the friendliest tax picture of our four countries for players. Parliament scrapped the 10% withholding tax on betting winnings, which had been introduced in August 2023, with effect from 2 April 2025, and the 1% E-Levy on mobile money transfers was abolished on the same date.

Aviator in Ghana

Some of betPawa’s best-known Aviator wins happened in Ghana. In November 2023, European Gaming reported that a player in Kumasi turned a GH¢20 bet into about GH¢6 million, then described as the biggest Aviator win in Africa. In July 2025, a Ghanaian player turned $0.62 into $193,079 as part of a record group win on a single betPawa Aviator round, FocusGN reported. These are extraordinary outliers, not something to plan around.

🇿🇲 betPawa Zambia review: 8.4/10

betPawa Zambia: all three networks, and it stayed open

★★★★8.4/10
🛡️ Company: Betbio Zambia Limited; CL-001083/2-2026 displayed (Gambling Maps)
💳 Payments: MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, Zamtel Money
🎁 Promotions: Win Bonus up to 1,000% (Topbets Zambia); 1UP on Double Chance during AFCON 2025
📱 Extras: cash out, live betting, virtual football and basketball

Why we rate it

betPawa launched in Zambia in 2017, according to Citi Newsroom. Its Zambian site is built for mobile money and small stakes: Topbets Zambia lists deposits and withdrawals by MTN, Airtel and Zamtel, cash out, live betting and virtuals, plus casino and crash games such as Aviator and JetX, and 24/7 live chat. Support for all three networks is less common than you’d think in Zambia, and it’s useful for Zamtel users.

How it handled the 2025 tax dispute

Zambia introduced a 10% excise duty on stakes in August 2025. betPawa and Betway challenged it, but on 3 October 2025 the Constitutional Court refused to suspend the tax while the wider case continued. Betway paused its operations. betPawa stayed: it kept sports betting and virtuals live, showing the 10% stake tax on the bet slip, and paused its casino and jackpot, FocusGN reported. We couldn’t confirm from 2026 sources whether the casino and jackpot have fully returned, so check the site.

Taxes you’ll see

From 1 January 2026, the Betting Levy Act No. 27 of 2025 imposes a 5% levy on every deposit into and withdrawal from an online betting account, collected by the operator for the Zambia Revenue Authority. Sources disagree on the rest. The Finance Minister said in December 2025 that the 10% excise on stakes would be abolished, but Gambling Maps found no repealing Act. And while FocusGN reported in April 2026 that the revised budget would keep a 15% withholding tax on winnings, Gambling Maps says no tax has been withheld from winnings since 1 January 2026. Check your bet slip and transaction history to see what’s actually deducted.

Things to know

Licence details vary between sources, as explained in the licensing section above. Topbets Zambia also notes that betPawa’s bonus terms can be hard to find on the Zambian site.

🇺🇬 betPawa Uganda review: 8.1/10

betPawa Uganda: where it all started

★★★★8.1/10
🛡️ Licences: Chop Gaming Limited, NLGRB-BM-26-0181 and NLGRB-CS-26-0182
🔞 Age: 25 and over
💳 Payments: MTN MoMo (including USSD merchant code BETPAWA) and Airtel Money
📶 Extra: 100 MB of free daily data for MTN Uganda users

Why we rate it

Uganda is betPawa’s home market, and its Ugandan business is fully licensed for 2026: Chop Gaming Limited holds both a general betting licence and a casino licence from the NLGRB. The product is designed around low stakes and low data use. MTN users can deposit through USSD with the merchant code BETPAWA, and betting also works over USSD without the app. betPawa also covers the first 100 MB of data each day for MTN Uganda subscribers on its website and Android app, with no code or opt-in, FocusGN reported in December 2025.

TheGameHaus lists a UGX 500 minimum deposit for Uganda. MTN adds a UGX 110 fee on deposits under UGX 2,000, according to our earlier Uganda research, so very small deposits cost proportionally more.

Casino and Aviator

betPawa Uganda’s casino is small but licensed. TheGameHaus counted about 65 slots, two table games and one roulette game, from providers including Smartsoft Gaming, Wazdan, BF Games, NetEnt, Play’n GO, Blueprint Gaming, Microgaming and Relax Gaming, with no live casino. Aviator is the star: Pulse Uganda reported a maximum Aviator win of UGX 900 million per flight in 2025, and in July 2025 Spribe confirmed a group win of about $1.1 million on a single betPawa round at a 750,000x multiplier, NBS Sport reported. betPawa also offers Black Lagoon’s Spinner-style quick games in Uganda, Ghana and Kenya, according to FocusGN (January 2026).

Taxes in Uganda

A 15% withholding tax on net winnings took effect from 1 July 2026, under amendments that received assent on 20 August 2026; lottery winnings are excluded. Operators also pay a harmonised 30% tax. Check your bet slip and withdrawal screen to see how the deduction is shown.

Football and support

betPawa has extended its “player bonus payment” sponsorship to Uganda through a deal with FUFA, paying cash to players on winning teams in Ugandan second-tier matches, SportBusiness reported. Sources disagree on support channels: our earlier Uganda research found Telegram, Facebook Messenger and X, while AfricaSoccer (July 2026) lists live chat, WhatsApp, phone and email. Use the contact options shown inside your account.

🇰🇪 betPawa Kenya review: 7.4/10

betPawa Kenya: strong product, unconfirmed 2026 licence

★★★½7.4/10
🛡️ Company: Nanovas International (K) Limited; BK0001070 / PG0001071 shown
📲 Paybill: 290020, recipient “BETPAWA”
💳 Minimums: deposit KES 1, withdrawal KES 50 (Paybill KE)
📱 App: Android APK of about 1.85 MB (TechTrends KE); iPhone via mobile site

What we like

betPawa has operated in Kenya since 2015, according to Citi Newsroom, and Blask ranked it fourth among Kenyan betting brands in a 2026 analysis reported by iGaming Afrika, with Betika first and SportPesa second. Its Kenyan product is the lightest of the four: TechTrends KE measured the Android download at about 1.85 MB in July 2026, one of the smallest in the market. Deposits start at KES 1 by M-Pesa paybill 290020, and the Win Bonus has no bonus wallet, wagering requirement or expiry, according to Paybill KE (June 2026).

The biggest recent win came in February 2026. Sadiq Kamulali, a long-distance truck driver from Mombasa, staked KES 100 on a 39-leg accumulator built mostly from over/under markets and won KES 19,797,271.74, boosted by a 450% Win Bonus, according to a betPawa release published by SportsAfrica. “Don’t leave your job to focus on betting,” he said afterwards. “If you win, you can invest but betting should not be pressure.”

betPawa is also investing in Kenyan sport. In July 2026, it signed a KES 17.3 million “Locker Room Bonus” deal with the Kenya Volleyball Federation for the 2026/27 season, paying team members KES 4,000 each through mobile money, Capital FM reported. Country manager Crispus Mogere said “the partnership goes beyond financial support.”

Why there’s no link

Nanovas International (K) Limited was on Kenya’s 2025/26 licensed list, but those licences remained valid only until 24 September 2026, and as of October 2026 the GRA hadn’t published a 2026 register. Paybill KE’s 28 October 2026 guide found no public GRA register and treated betPawa’s licence numbers as the operator’s own statement. We found no regulatory action against betPawa Kenya. The licence gap is market-wide, not specific to betPawa, and we’ll review our position once the register is published.

Things to know

  • Casino: our earlier research couldn’t confirm that betPawa offers a casino in Kenya, so we score Kenya on sports, virtuals and jackpots.
  • Lookalike paybills: Paybill KE warns about 290021 and 290002. Always check the SMS shows “BETPAWA”.
  • Taxes: 5% excise on deposits (KES 100 becomes KES 95) and 5% withholding on withdrawals (KES 1,000 becomes KES 950). Paybill KE also cites a 20% withholding tax on winnings from 1 July 2026, but iGaming Times says the 20% rate applies to lotteries and prize competitions, not betting. Check your statement.
  • App sources: Paybill KE’s betPawa page says the official Android APK comes from betpawa.co.ke, while its October 2026 app guide found “betPawa – Sports Betting App” by PawaTech on Google Play with 100K+ downloads. Use either official route only.

The pattern is clear. Ghana and Uganda have the strongest licence picture, with betPawa named on a published 2026 regulator list. Zambia has a named local company and a current licence number on display, but no public register to confirm it against. Kenya has the best app and the lowest minimums, but the licence question can’t be settled until the GRA publishes its 2026 register.

💳 betPawa deposits and withdrawals

Every betPawa site is built around mobile money. There are no cards, bank transfers or crypto in the payment lists we found, so you’ll need a registered mobile money wallet in the same name as your betting account. TheGameHaus says betPawa doesn’t charge withdrawal fees and that withdrawals are usually processed within 24 hours; in practice, Paybill KE and AfricaSoccer describe most mobile money transactions landing within minutes.

How to deposit in Kenya (M-Pesa)

  1. Open M-Pesa and choose Lipa na M-Pesa, then Pay Bill.
  2. Enter business number 290020.
  3. Enter your registered Safaricom number as the account number.
  4. Enter the amount and your PIN, then confirm.
  5. Check the SMS names BETPAWA. Funds usually arrive within 1 to 5 minutes, minus 5% excise.

How to deposit in Ghana (MoMo)

  1. Log in at betpawa.com.gh or in the app and open Deposit.
  2. Choose MTN MoMo or AirtelTigo Money and enter an amount from GHS 1.
  3. Approve the prompt on your phone with your MoMo PIN.
  4. Your balance should update in under a minute; if not, check *170# and contact support.

Depositing in Uganda and Zambia

In Uganda, deposit in your account at betpawa.ug or use MTN MoMo USSD with the merchant code BETPAWA; remember MTN’s UGX 110 fee on deposits under UGX 2,000. In Zambia, choose MTN, Airtel or Zamtel in the cashier at betpawa.co.zm and approve the request on your phone; the 5% Betting Levy is deducted.

How to withdraw from betPawa

  1. Check the minimum: KES 50 in Kenya, per Paybill KE; check the cashier in other countries.
  2. Open Withdraw in your account and enter the amount.
  3. Confirm: money goes to the mobile money number registered on your account.
  4. Expect deductions: 5% withholding in Kenya, the 5% Betting Levy in Zambia, and 15% on net winnings in Uganda.
  5. Split large wins: M-Pesa caps transactions at KES 250,000 and KES 500,000 a day for verified accounts, so large Kenyan wins arrive in several payments.

🇰🇪 Kenya5% excise on deposits; 5% withholding on withdrawalsSources disagree on whether a 20% tax applies to betting winnings
🇬🇭 GhanaNo tax on winningsThe 10% winnings tax was repealed from 2 April 2025
🇺🇬 Uganda15% withholding on net winningsFrom 1 July 2026; lottery winnings excluded
🇿🇲 Zambia5% Betting Levy on deposits and withdrawalsStatus of the 10% excise on stakes and a 15% winnings tax is disputed

Taxes are deducted by betPawa before money reaches you, so you don’t need to file anything yourself as a casual bettor in these markets. What changes is how much of a win you actually take home. A KES 1,000 Kenyan withdrawal becomes KES 950; a Ghanaian win is paid in full. If you’re comparing betPawa with another bookmaker in the same country, both deduct the same taxes, so the comparison is about odds, bonuses and service.

⚽ betPawa sportsbook

betPawa’s sportsbook is deliberately simple. TheGameHaus found only football and basketball in its review, with decimal odds from 1.20 to 170.00, pre-match and live betting, and cash out, but no live streaming. AfricaSoccer’s Uganda review also mentions tennis, so the range may vary by country. Football coverage is where betPawa concentrates, including local leagues such as the Uganda Premier League alongside the Premier League, La Liga and the Champions League.

  • Cash out: available on selected bets in our sources.
  • Virtual sports: virtual football with full-time, both-teams-to-score, double chance and half-time/full-time markets, according to TheGameHaus; Topbets Zambia also lists virtual basketball.
  • Stakes: as low as KES 1 in Kenya, per TheGameHaus. Note that Kenya’s 2026 regulations set a KES 20 minimum stake for online gambling, so Kenyan minimums may change.
  • Odds boosts: betPawa has run “pawaBoost” boosted prices on selected matches in the past.

If you want tennis, cricket, rugby or esports in depth, or want to stream matches, betPawa won’t be enough on its own. If you mainly bet on football accumulators, it covers what you need.

🎰 betPawa casino and Aviator

betPawa’s casino offering varies more by country than anything else. It’s licensed for online casino in Ghana and Uganda. In Zambia, betPawa paused its casino in October 2025 during the excise dispute, and in Kenya, our research couldn’t confirm a casino. Where it runs, the lobby is compact: TheGameHaus counted about 65 slots in Uganda, plus quick crash and Spinner-style games, and no live dealers.

Aviator is where betPawa has made its name. Spribe confirmed a group win of about $1.1 million on a single betPawa round in July 2025, at a 750,000x multiplier, and Pulse Uganda reported a maximum Aviator win of UGX 900 million per flight in Uganda.

How Aviator works

A multiplier climbs until the plane flies away at a random point. Cash out before it leaves and you win your stake times the multiplier; miss it and you lose the stake. The higher your target, the less likely you are to reach it:

Cash-out targetRough chance of reaching it
1.50xAbout 65%
2.00xAbout 48%
5.00xAbout 19%
10.00xAbout 10%
100.00xAbout 1%

Illustration based on Aviator’s typical 97% return to player (chance ≈ 0.97 ÷ target).

🏆 betPawa jackpots

betPawa runs football pool jackpots on weekdays and weekends, according to TheGameHaus, with a minimum of NGN 10 per selection on its Nigerian site. Paybill KE describes the Kenyan jackpot as a multi-game predictor with smaller top prizes than Betika’s or Odibets’, but more frequent wins. The Win Bonus doesn’t apply to jackpots.

With a 50% chance on each match, Paybill KE puts a perfect 10-game card at 1 in 1,024. Treat jackpots as cheap fun, not a plan.

📱 betPawa app

Light apps are one of betPawa’s biggest strengths, especially for players on older phones or tight data budgets:

🇰🇪 KenyaAPK from betpawa.co.ke; Google Play listing by PawaTech (Paybill KE, Oct 2026)Mobile siteAbout 1.85 MB download (TechTrends KE)
🇬🇭 GhanaAPK, Android 5.0+App, iOS 12+ (AfricaSoccer; BetRank GH)About 30 MB of storage (AfricaSoccer)
🇺🇬 UgandaAndroid appiOS app listed by AfricaSoccerNot published
🇿🇲 ZambiaMobile appNot confirmedNot published

TheGameHaus describes a group app of about 2.5 MB with auto-login and notifications. Sizes differ because some sources measure the download and others the installed size. Whatever your country, download the app only from your country’s betPawa site or an official store listing, never from links in WhatsApp or Telegram groups, and don’t give a betting app permission to read your SMS or contacts.

💬 betPawa customer support

TheGameHaus lists 24/7 support through a help centre, phone callback requests, Facebook Messenger, X, Telegram and email. Country channels differ: in Kenya, Paybill KE points to live chat for deposit and withdrawal problems; in Zambia, Topbets lists 24/7 live chat; in Uganda, sources list either social channels or live chat, WhatsApp, phone and email. If you lose the phone number registered to your Kenyan account, Paybill KE says support will ask for a national ID match. Have your mobile money transaction code ready whenever you contact support about a payment.

Track record✅ Operating since 2014, in 11 markets by 2023

Zambia licence paperwork⚠️ Numbers and regulator name differ between sources
Bonus fairness✅ Win Bonus paid as cash, no wagering
Responsible gambling tools✅ Deposit limits with cooling-off (Kenya); limits, time-outs and self-exclusion (Uganda)

Overall, betPawa is one of the more transparent pan-African brands: it names its local companies, it’s been reported on in depth by the Ghanaian press, and it holds published licences in two of our four markets. Our remaining doubts are about paperwork, not conduct.

What to do if something goes wrong

  1. Contact betPawa support with your mobile money transaction code and screenshots.
  2. Contact your mobile money provider if money left your wallet but didn’t arrive, or went to a wrong number; in Kenya, Safaricom is on 100.
  3. Escalate to the regulator: the GCG in Ghana, the NLGRB in Uganda or the GRA in Kenya (0800 723 770). In Zambia, Gambling Maps points to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) for consumer complaints.

📝 How to join betPawa

  1. Open your country’s site: betpawa.com.gh, betpawa.ug, betpawa.co.zm or betpawa.co.ke.
  2. Register with your mobile number and create a password or PIN.
  3. Confirm your age: 18+ in Ghana, Kenya and Zambia; 25+ in Uganda.
  4. Complete identity checks where asked; Kenya’s 2025 law requires identity, age and location checks before account activation and the first deposit.
  5. Set a deposit limit before your first deposit.
  6. Deposit with mobile money from the number on your account.
  7. Check the Win Bonus table for your country before building accumulators.

🧭 Responsible gambling at betPawa

  • Kenya: daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits; raising a limit triggers a 24 to 72 hour cooling-off period, according to Paybill KE. The GRA’s national self-exclusion register must be connected by licensees by about the end of December 2026.
  • Uganda: deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion, per AfricaSoccer. Uganda’s Responsible Gambling Directives 2025 also require limits and a national self-exclusion register and ban credit and inducements.
  • Ghana and Zambia: check the account settings for limits. Gambling Maps notes Zambia has no statutory responsible gambling tools or helpline.
  • Group: betPawa reiterated its responsible betting and self-exclusion tools when publicising the KES 19.7 million win in March 2026.

betPawa’s tiny minimum stakes are a double-edged sword: they make betting affordable, but they also make it easy to place dozens of small bets without noticing the total. Set a weekly budget and stick to it.

🧘 Responsible gambling

Set a budget, never chase losses, and stop if betting stops being fun. Warning signs include borrowing to bet, using money meant for rent, food or school fees, and hiding betting from family. Small stakes add up: twenty KES 10 bets a day is KES 6,000 a month.

  • Kenya: GRA helpline 0800 723 770; national self-exclusion due by about the end of December 2026.

🔞 Adults only: 18+ in Kenya, Ghana and Zambia; 25+ in Uganda.

🏁 Final verdict: betPawa review 2026

betPawa is one of Africa’s most accessible bookmakers: stakes and deposits from 1 unit of local currency, light apps that run on older phones, mobile money everywhere and a Win Bonus that pays real cash with no wagering. It’s licensed on published 2026 registers in Ghana and Uganda and runs through a named local company with a displayed licence in Zambia. Its promotions are thin beyond the Win Bonus, its sportsbook is narrow, and casino availability varies. In Kenya, a strong product is held back by a 2026 licence that can’t yet be checked on a published register. Our scores: Ghana 8.5, Zambia 8.4, Uganda 8.1 and Kenya 7.4, for 8.1/10 overall.
