Licence and track record

Premier Bet Limited appears on both of MAGLA’s sports betting lists: the September 2025 list of licensed operators and MAGLA’s licensed-operator web page, updated in March 2026, which links to premierbet.mw. That makes Malawi the only one of our three markets where we could verify a Premier Bet licence on a regulator’s own records.

Premier Bet has deep roots in Malawi. Nation Online reported that it launched in Blantyre in 2015, Nyasa Times said its app came out in 2016, and in 2022 it was reported as Malawi’s only licensed online operator. In January 2026, it was one of three operators, alongside Betway and betPawa, that MAGLA consulted about the impact of Malawi’s new gambling taxes.

The 2023 agent shake-up

In September 2023, Premier Bet ended contracts with about 1,500 field agents across Malawi, citing unprofitability and competition. CEO Trevor Whitaker said: “For the shops and online, it is business as usual,” and dismissed rumours that the company was leaving Malawi. Its shops and online platform continued, and it remains on MAGLA’s current lists.

Welcome bonus

Nyasa Times’ registration guide lists a 100% first deposit bonus on sports betting of up to K50,000. The guide doesn’t give wagering terms or a date, so check the current offer and its rules on premierbet.mw before depositing.

Products: Aviator, Bet Builder and Mr Predictor

For AFCON 2025, Premier Bet promoted Bet Builder, which combines several markets from one match on a single slip, and Mr Predictor, which it describes as “full of facts and knowledge to help bettors win cash on their football bets”. Premier Bet also has one of Malawi’s biggest Aviator followings: in July 2022, Nation Online reported that five players won a combined K400 million on its Aviator game, with stakes as low as K50, which the company called its biggest payout in the country.

Community and sponsorships

• Independence Show 2026: K10 million for the inaugural Independence Day concert in Lilongwe on 4 July 2026, FocusGN reported.
• Martse Memorial Show 2026: K8 million for the fourth edition in Mzuzu, whose proceeds fund school desks.
• Netball, music and youth events: long-running sponsorships across Malawi.

Tax and player protection in Malawi

• Tax on winnings: 15% withholding on all betting winnings, with no tax-free threshold, since 31 December 2025.
• Age: 18+.
• Help and self-exclusion: MAGLA’s toll-free line 4252 (TNM and Airtel) handles complaints, counselling and self-exclusion, Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 16:30.
• Advertising: gambling ads on TV and radio only between 21:00 and 06:00.

🇨🇲 Premier Bet Cameroon review

The licence question

In Cameroon, online betting is governed by Law No. 2015/012 of 16 July 2015 and its 2019 implementing decree, and the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MINAT) grants five-year online authorisations. Cameroon doesn’t publish a public register, so the usual way to check is the MINAT authorisation number in an operator’s own terms. Betclic, for example, cites authorisation 000059 of 28 April 2026, and independent guides record numbers for Melbet (000063) and 1xBet (000020).

For Premier Bet, we found no MINAT number. Le Bon Pari Sportif quotes the site as “operated by RJC Ltd. / Premier Betting under license from The Gaming Board of Cameroon”, and its author says the lack of transparency is a concern. Bookmakers Cameroun also cites a “Gaming Board of Cameroon” licence with no number, and MightyTips mentions a licence from the “Commission des jeux du Cameroun”. None of these bodies is MINAT. Premier Bet may well hold a MINAT authorisation, but until its number is published we can’t verify it.

Casino games and Cameroon’s rules

Reviews describe an online casino, poker, virtual games, Aviator and Navigator at Premier Bet Cameroon. Under Cameroon’s framework, MINAT authorises online betting and poker, and online casino games aren’t permitted, according to our October 2026 research. If you’re in Cameroon, stick to sports betting.

Welcome bonus

The caps range from 10,000 to 150,000 FCFA. Cameroon’s rules also restrict bonus practices, so check the current terms on Premier Bet’s Cameroonian site.

Products and features

• Sports: about 20 sports, including football, basketball, tennis, rugby and handball, with live betting, cash out and boosted odds.
• Premier Bet TV: streaming of selected matches.
• Premier Bet Zone: book bets online and pay in cash at a shop.
• Lotto 5/90 and virtual games.
• Odds: Bookmakers Cameroun’s April 2026 comparison put Premier Bet’s margin at about 6%, against about 4–5% for 1xBet and 5% for Betwinner.

Payments and support

Deposits by Orange Money, MTN MoMo, Visa, Mastercard, vouchers and Express Union are listed by Bookmakers Cameroun, which reports withdrawals usually taking 15 minutes to 4 hours, up to 24 hours at peak times. Support includes 24/7 live chat, email, the local number (237) 233 424 84 and shops. The Android app is an APK from the official site; there’s no native iPhone app, according to both reviews.

Francis Ngannou

Cameroonian MMA star Francis Ngannou has long been associated with Premier Bet in Cameroon, and Premier Bet has since expanded the partnership, making him a pan-African brand ambassador through 2027, FocusGN, SiGMA and Gambling Insider reported.

Our advice: if you’re in Cameroon, ask Premier Bet for its MINAT authorisation number before depositing, or use a bookmaker that publishes one, such as Betclic (000059) or Melbet (000063).

🇿🇲 Premier Bet Zambia: is it still operating?

Zambia’s Betting Control and Licensing Board doesn’t publish a public register, so licences have to be checked through the company names and numbers operators display. For Premier Bet, the evidence is thin:

• August 2026 check: Zambia Betting Reviews found that the Zambian (.co.zm) domain redirected to a global market selector that didn’t list Zambia, observed no local service, and couldn’t verify a licence holder, number or current status.
• Older guides: a Ghana Soccernet guide framed around 2023 claimed a BCLB licence (without a number) and listed Airtel, MTN and Zamtel payments, a ZK1 minimum deposit and a 100% bonus up to ZK500. It gives no current date and may be out of date.
• Our own research: Premier Bet didn’t appear among the brands with verifiable Zambian companies in our October 2026 Zambia guide.

We therefore can’t confirm that Premier Bet currently operates in Zambia, and we don’t score it there. If you see a site using the Premier Bet name for Zambian players, check its Zambian company and BCLB licence before depositing.

What applies to any Zambian bookmaker

• Betting Levy: 5% on deposits and withdrawals from 1 January 2026 under the Betting Levy Act No. 27 of 2025.
• Excise: 10% excise on stakes from 8 August 2025, paid by operators.
• Licensed alternatives: Betway Zambia and betPawa Zambia name their Zambian operating companies.

• Player protection: a barred-persons file (three years), a ban on credit for gambling, rules on bonuses and requirements for limits, balance displays and warnings.
• Tax: winnings aren’t taxed; 1% plus 4 FCFA applies to gaming withdrawals, and a 3% digital tax targets offshore platforms.
• Foreign licences: not recognised.

These rules explain why we put so much weight on a MINAT number. Without one, a Cameroonian player can’t confirm that an operator is authorised, and offshore or unverified sites fall outside the protections above.

🏢 Who is behind Premier Bet?

Premier Bet is a pan-African brand. In 2023, its Malawian CEO, Trevor Whitaker, said the company operated in 17 territories across sub-Saharan Africa, Nation Online reported. Reviews of the Cameroonian business name RJC Ltd / Premier Betting as the operator, with Le Bon Pari Sportif describing it as founded in 2013 and headquartered in London, and Bookmakers Cameroun placing its headquarters in Douala. In Malawi, the licensed company is Premier Bet Limited.

Because each country is run by a separate local business under a local licence (or, where it isn’t verifiable, without a confirmed one), your rights depend on where you live. A Malawian player can complain to MAGLA; a Cameroonian player can only rely on MINAT if Premier Bet holds a MINAT authorisation.

📝 How to join Premier Bet Malawi

1. Check MAGLA’s list to confirm Premier Bet Limited is still licensed, or call 4252.
2. Open premierbet.mw or the official app.
3. Enter your details and phone number, then confirm with the SMS code; Nyasa Times says sign-up takes about five minutes.
4. Confirm you’re 18 or over.
5. Upload ID if asked; verification is usually needed before withdrawals.
6. Set deposit limits before your first deposit.
7. Check the welcome offer terms and opt in if you want it.
8. Deposit through the official cashier.

🧮 What the welcome bonuses are really worth

Both Malawi’s and Cameroon’s welcome offers come with wagering. Here’s how Cameroon’s reported 5x wagering at odds of 2.00 works on a 10,000 FCFA bonus:

That’s a reasonable bonus if the terms match what reviews describe, but higher caps (up to 150,000 FCFA) require much larger deposits and more wagering. In Malawi, we couldn’t find the wagering terms for the 100% up to K50,000 offer, so read them on premierbet.mw before opting in.

✈️ Aviator at Premier Bet

Aviator is one of Premier Bet’s most popular products in Malawi, and reviews list it in Cameroon too. Each round, a multiplier rises until it crashes at a random point; cash out before the crash or lose your stake. Premier Bet’s K400 million Aviator payout in 2022 made headlines, but for every big winner there are many more losing rounds. No app or “signal” group can predict the crash.

In Cameroon, remember that online casino games aren’t permitted under MINAT’s framework, so the legal footing for Aviator there is weaker than for sports betting.

The combined odds look attractive, but every extra market must win, and same-match markets are often linked, so bookmakers price them with a margin built in.

Keep Bet Builders to two or three markets you genuinely expect, and treat bigger combinations as entertainment.

• Malawi: mobile money dominates Malawian betting; Betway, betPawa and World Star Betting accept Airtel Money and TNM Mpamba from K50. We couldn’t confirm Premier Bet Malawi’s methods and minimums from a recent source, so check its cashier.
• Cameroon: Orange Money and MTN MoMo, plus cards, vouchers and Express Union, per Bookmakers Cameroun. Cameroon charges 1% plus 4 FCFA on gaming withdrawals.

🌍 One brand, three very different Premier Bet review results

It can be confusing that the same logo earns 8.3/10 in one country and isn’t scored in another. The reason is that betting licences are national. Each Premier Bet business must satisfy its own country’s regulator, publish its own terms and run its own payments.
