• The law: Section 11 of the National Gambling Act, 2004 prohibits unauthorised interactive games, including online casino.
• The court: on 21 October 2025, the Supreme Court of Appeal ruled in the Supabets case that Gauteng-licensed bookmakers may not offer fixed-odds bets on casino games such as roulette.
