22Bet Review for Africa 2026

22Bet Review for Africa 2026: Licences, Bonuses and Payouts by Country

Our 22Bet review for October 2026 finds a bookmaker that is properly licensed in four African markets: Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda and Ghana (sports only). In those countries, 22Bet offers a big sportsbook, a casino, mobile money payments and a sports welcome bonus with fair 5x wagering in Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda.

The picture isn’t the same everywhere, though. We couldn’t confirm a 22Bet licence in Tanzania, Zambia or South Africa, and the details of the welcome offer, minimum deposits and apps change from country to country. Below, we break down what 22Bet offers in each market, what we tested and confirmed, and where you should be careful.

📌 22Bet at a glance

  • 22Bet launched in 2017 and runs separate local sites in African countries, each operated by a locally licensed company.
  • Licensed in Nigeria (Lagos, to 22 May 2027), Kenya (2025/26 register), Uganda (2026 licences for betting and casino) and Ghana (sports betting only for 2026).
  • The sports welcome bonus in Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda is a 100% first-deposit match with 5x wagering on accumulators of 3+ selections at odds of 1.40 or higher, within 7 days.
  • Payments run through local mobile money and bank methods, such as M-Pesa in Kenya, MTN and Airtel in Uganda, and OPay, PalmPay and bank transfer in Nigeria.
  • Not recommended in Tanzania, Zambia or South Africa, where we couldn’t confirm a valid 22Bet licence.

⭐ Our verdict: 8.4/10

22Bet is a solid choice in the African countries where it’s licensed, especially for football bettors who want deep markets and a clearable sports bonus. Fast mobile money withdrawals and local support lines are real strengths. It loses points for odds that trail the best local bookmakers in Kenya, a casino bonus with much heavier wagering than the sports offer, and inconsistent information between its country sites.

🌍 Where is 22Bet licensed in Africa?

22Bet doesn’t run one pan-African website. In each country where it’s licensed, a local company holds the licence and runs a separate site with local currency, local payment methods and terms written for that market. That’s important for you as a player: the protection you get comes from the national regulator, and only if you register on the local site.

Here’s what we found when we checked national registers and regulator lists in October 2026.

🇳🇬

Nigeria: licensed

Arcadia Hospitality Limited holds a Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) licence for Online Sports Betting/Online Casino, running from 23 May 2026 to 22 May 2027. The licence code shown on the site is LSLGA/OP/OSB/22B230524. Reviewers also cite an Oyo State Gaming Board casino licence.

🇰🇪

Kenya: licensed (2025/26)

Nuntis Holdings Limited holds bookmaker licence BK-0001293 and public gaming licence PG-0001294 on the regulator’s list for the 2025/26 trading period. Kenya’s new Gambling Regulatory Authority hadn’t published its 2026 register when we checked, so re-check before depositing.

🇺🇬

Uganda: licensed for 2026

Arcadia Hospitality Limited appears on the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board’s 2026 list, with betting licence BM-26-0221 and casino licence CS-26-0222. Ugandan licences expire on 31 December each year.

🇬🇭

Ghana: sports betting only

22Bet is on the Gaming Commission of Ghana’s 2026 register for sports betting, valid to 31 December 2026, but has no Online Casino entry. ChampsBase lists the operating company as Lantini Limited.

🇹🇿

Tanzania: not confirmed

22Bet doesn’t appear under its own name on the Gaming Board of Tanzania’s online register. One review links it to a licensed local company, but we couldn’t confirm that the 22Bet brand is covered, so we don’t recommend it in Tanzania.

🇿🇦🇿🇲

South Africa and Zambia: not confirmed

We found no South African provincial licence for 22Bet, and online casino is illegal in South Africa. For Zambia, the licence details published by reviewers were inconsistent, so we couldn’t verify a Zambian licence.

⚠️ Always register on your country’s 22Bet site, such as 22bet.ng, 22bet.co.ke or 22bet.ug. The international 22Bet site isn’t covered by an African regulator, so you’d have no local authority to complain to.

ℹ️ A dash means our sources disagreed, so we left the detail out rather than guess. In Ghana, reviews quoted at least three different welcome offers. Always check the offer shown on your country’s 22Bet site before depositing.

🗺️ 22Bet review by country

Because each of 22Bet’s African sites is run by a different local company under a different regulator, the experience isn’t identical everywhere. Here’s our 22Bet review for each licensed market, with the local rules you should know.

🇳🇬 22Bet Nigeria review

Nigeria is 22Bet’s most complete African market. Arcadia Hospitality Limited holds a Lagos licence covering both online sports betting and online casino, valid from 23 May 2026 to 22 May 2027, so you can use the full sportsbook and casino on 22bet.ng under local regulation.

The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority has become Nigeria’s leading regulator since the Supreme Court ruled on 22 November 2024 that gambling is a matter for the states. Lagos-licensed operators must collect your NIN for KYC and deduct a 5% withholding tax from net winnings at payout. The authority also publishes a list of illegal operators, which named 44 companies in its September 2026 update, including Stake and bet365, so a Lagos licence is a meaningful advantage for 22Bet in Nigeria.

For players, the highlights are the 5x sports bonus from a ₦1,700 deposit, a payment menu that covers cards, OPay, PalmPay, bank transfer and USSD, an iOS app on the Nigerian App Store and a Nigerian phone line. The main caveat is the casino bonus, which reviewers say carries much heavier wagering than the sports offer.

🇰🇪 22Bet Kenya review

In Kenya, 22Bet is run by Nuntis Holdings Limited, which holds bookmaker licence BK-0001293 and public gaming licence PG-0001294 on the 2025/26 list. Kenya is in the middle of a licensing overhaul: the Gambling Control Act, 2025 replaced the old Betting Control and Licensing Board with the Gambling Regulatory Authority, and the authority set 24 September 2026 as the end date for licences issued under the old law. Its 2026 register hadn’t been published when we checked, so look for 22Bet’s company on gra.go.ke before depositing.

The new rules work in your favour as a player. Operators must verify your identity, age and location before your first deposit, offer daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits, and credit winnings to your account within two days. The minimum online stake is KES 20, and credit cards are banned for gambling.

22Bet Kenya’s standout points are the KES 19,000 sports bonus from KES 150, M-Pesa withdrawals that landed in minutes in testing, and local phone, WhatsApp and email support. Its weak spot is odds: it came fourth of five Kenyan bookmakers in ChampsBase’s margin comparison.

🇺🇬 22Bet Uganda review

Arcadia Hospitality Limited is also the licensed company in Uganda, where it appears on the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board’s 2026 list with a betting licence (BM-26-0221) and a casino licence (CS-26-0222). Ugandan licences expire on 31 December each year, so check that 22Bet has been renewed if you’re reading this in 2027.

Uganda has some of the strictest rules in Africa. The law treats anyone under 25 as a minor, so you must be at least 25 to bet. Operators pay a harmonised 30% tax, and since 1 July 2026 players face a 15% withholding tax on net winnings. The board has also blocked dozens of illegal betting sites, which makes sticking to licensed brands like 22Bet’s local site even more important.

22Bet Uganda offers a 100% sports bonus up to about UGX 490,000 with the same 5x accumulator rules, MTN and Airtel mobile money, and Android and iOS apps.

🇬🇭 22Bet Ghana review

In Ghana, 22Bet holds a sports betting licence from the Gaming Commission of Ghana for 2026, valid to 31 December 2026. It has no Online Casino entry on the register, so we’d only use 22Bet Ghana for sports betting.

Ghana’s rules require operators to verify players with the Ghana Card, and you must be 18 or older. Ghana scrapped its 10% withholding tax on winnings from 2 April 2025, so no winnings tax should be deducted from your payouts.

22Bet Ghana supports MTN Mobile Money, AirtelTigo Money and Telecel Cash, and its coverage includes the Ghana Premier League alongside the big European leagues and AFCON. Information about its welcome bonus and app was the least consistent of any market we checked, so read the terms on the Ghanaian site before you deposit.

🎯 Who is 22Bet best for?

👍 A good fit if you…

  • Bet mainly on football accumulators and want a bonus you can realistically clear.
  • Want a wide choice of leagues, live betting, cash out and Bet Builder.
  • Pay with M-Pesa, MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, OPay or PalmPay.
  • Like having a local phone line and WhatsApp support.
  • Live in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda or, for sports only, Ghana.

👎 Look elsewhere if you…

  • Always chase the best odds on every match.
  • Mainly play casino games and want light wagering or published RTPs.
  • Live in Tanzania, Zambia or South Africa, where we couldn’t confirm a licence.
  • Want casino games in Ghana.
  • Prefer a bookmaker with a single, consistent offer across countries.

In short, our 22Bet review comes down to this: it’s a strong all-round sportsbook for football fans in its licensed African markets, with excellent mobile money support, but it’s not the best choice for odds hunters or casino-first players.

🎁 22Bet welcome bonuses by country

22Bet runs a separate welcome offer in each country. In Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda, the sports bonus follows the same structure, which makes it one of the more transparent offers in African betting. You choose your bonus during registration or before your first deposit, and you can’t switch later.

🇳🇬 Nigeria

New customers get a 100% match on their first deposit, from a minimum of ₦1,700. The bonus must be wagered 5 times in accumulator bets with at least three selections, each at odds of 1.40 or higher, within 7 days of being credited. It’s limited to one per person, household and IP address. The maximum bonus quoted by reviewers varied, so check the cap on 22bet.ng before you deposit.

There’s also a separate casino welcome offer, which you select at registration instead of the sports bonus. Pulse Sports warns that its wagering requirement is much heavier than the sports offer, and the amounts quoted by different sites conflicted, so read the terms on the site carefully.

🇰🇪 Kenya

The sports welcome bonus is a 100% match up to KES 19,000, from a minimum deposit of KES 150, with the same 5x accumulator wagering (3+ legs at 1.40 or higher) within 7 days. ChampsBase also lists a casino package of up to KES 60,000 plus 60 free spins over four deposits, with 35x wagering within seven days and a KES 750 maximum bet per spin while the bonus is active.

🇺🇬 Uganda

In Uganda, the sports bonus is a 100% match up to about UGX 490,000, again with 5x accumulator wagering at odds of 1.40 or higher within 7 days. One review notes that crypto deposits are excluded from the bonus. ChampsBase lists a casino alternative of up to UGX 1,680,000 plus 60 free spins.

🇬🇭 Ghana

We found three different welcome offers quoted for 22Bet Ghana, ranging from a 200% first-deposit match to a multi-deposit package with very different wagering rules. Because they can’t all be right, we don’t quote one. Open the promotions page on the Ghanaian site after registering and read the current terms.

ℹ️ How the 5x rule works: deposit ₦10,000 in Nigeria and get a ₦10,000 bonus. You then need to place ₦50,000 in accumulators of three or more selections, each priced at 1.40 or higher, within 7 days. Singles and short-priced legs don’t count.

⚽ 22Bet sportsbook and odds

The sportsbook is 22Bet’s core product, and it’s broad. Reviewers counted more than 1,000 events every day, with dozens of sports covered and over 30 markets on a typical football match. Coverage is deepest on the competitions African bettors care about most: the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and the Champions League, plus AFCON and local leagues such as the Ghana Premier League.

Markets and features

  • Popular football markets: 1X2, both teams to score, over/under goals and Asian handicaps.
  • Live betting: dynamic in-play odds, with live streams on selected high-profile matches in the app.
  • Cash out: available, including on live bets.
  • Bet Builder: combine markets from the same match, also on mobile.
  • Esports and virtuals: CS2, Dota 2 and League of Legends, plus virtual sports.

How good are 22Bet’s odds?

Odds are 22Bet’s weak spot. In ChampsBase’s 2026 comparison of five Kenyan bookmakers, 22Bet came fourth, with an average margin of 5.38% against 3.00% for the leader, Betika. A higher margin means you get slightly less back on every winning bet. Pulse Sports, on the other hand, described 22Bet’s odds as competitive on football and esports in Nigeria. Our advice is simple: if you bet regularly, compare prices on big matches with one or two other licensed bookmakers before placing your slip.

Niche sports and smaller domestic leagues have thinner markets than the top European competitions, so if you mainly bet on lower divisions, check the depth of coverage before you commit.

🎰 22Bet casino review

22Bet’s casino is available in Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda, where the local companies hold casino licences. It isn’t covered in Ghana, where 22Bet has a sports betting licence only.

Games and providers

Pulse Sports counts more than 1,000 casino games on the Nigerian site, and Soccernet puts the provider count at over 80. Studios named by reviewers include Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, NetEnt, Nolimit City, Play’n GO, Betsoft, Microgaming, Ezugi, Spinomenal and Wazdan. ChampsBase notes that NetEnt titles weren’t available in Ghana and Uganda during its tests.

  • Slots: classic and video slots from the providers above, with weekly cashback on selected slots in Nigeria.
  • Live casino: real-dealer blackjack, roulette and baccarat, plus TV-style game shows.
  • Crash games: Aviator and similar fast-multiplier games.

A word on crash games. Aviator-style games are hugely popular across Africa because rounds last only seconds and stakes can be tiny. That speed is also the risk: it’s easy to place dozens of bets in a few minutes and lose track of how much you’ve spent. If you play them at 22Bet, set a session budget and a deposit limit first, and treat any cash-out as a win to bank rather than a stake to roll over.

What to watch out for

ChampsBase found that 22Bet doesn’t display return-to-player (RTP) figures for its slots and doesn’t name an independent testing lab such as eCOGRA, GLI or iTech Labs. Casino bonuses also carry far heavier wagering than the sports bonus: 35x in Kenya, for example, against 5x for sports. If you’re mainly a casino player, these are worth weighing against rivals that publish RTPs and lighter terms.

💳 22Bet payments and withdrawals by country

22Bet’s payment menus are built around the methods people actually use in each country, which is one of its biggest strengths.

🇳🇬

Nigeria

Visa, Mastercard and Verve cards through Paystack and Flutterwave, bank transfer, USSD, OPay and PalmPay. Card deposits through Paystack start at ₦50, and most other methods at ₦100. Pulse Sports reports e-wallet withdrawals in 30 minutes to a few hours and bank transfers within 24 hours, while card withdrawals can take up to 5 business days.

🇰🇪

Kenya

M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Visa and Mastercard. In ChampsBase’s test on 29 August 2026, M-Pesa withdrawals of KES 1,000 and KES 1,500 arrived in 7 and 11 minutes, and deposits were credited in under two minutes. Copy the paybill from inside your 22Bet account, as different numbers circulate online.

🇺🇬

Uganda

MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, bank transfer, cards, Skrill, Neteller and crypto. Remember that crypto deposits are excluded from the welcome bonus.

🇬🇭

Ghana

MTN Mobile Money, AirtelTigo Money and Telecel Cash. One review reports that MoMo deposits are instant and withdrawals usually take minutes, though network delays can stretch that to a few hours.

⚠️ Verify your account before your first withdrawal. 22Bet asks for a valid government ID, and proof of address for larger withdrawals. In Nigeria, Lagos rules also require your NIN, and in Kenya, larger withdrawals can go through an extra review.

📱 22Bet mobile app

22Bet is built for mobile, and app availability depends on the country.

  • Nigeria: Android APK from the official site and an iOS app on the Nigerian App Store, with push notifications for live events.
  • Kenya: ChampsBase found the Android app on Google Play and as a direct APK, plus an iOS app on the App Store. Another Kenyan guide says iPhone users rely on the mobile site, so check the App Store in your region.
  • Uganda: Android APK and an iOS app on the App Store.
  • Ghana: sources disagreed on whether there’s a Ghanaian app or browser-only access, so use the mobile site if you can’t find the app.

Only download the Android APK from your country’s official 22Bet site. Unofficial mirrors and third-party APKs are a common source of scams and malware. ChampsBase also found the app stable on a mid-range Android phone, which matters in markets where many players use budget handsets.

💬 22Bet customer support

Support is one of 22Bet’s better areas, with local channels in each market.

🇰🇪

Kenya

Phone +254 706 557 811, WhatsApp +254 716 615 149 for deposit issues, and email support-co.ke@22bet.com.

🇳🇬

Nigeria

Phone +234 90 7026 3332, plus 24/7 live chat, email and social media.

🇬🇭

Ghana

Email help@22bet.com.gh and Telegram @Ghana22BETSupport.

In ChampsBase’s test, live chat connected in four minutes and email replied in about three and a half hours. Soccernet notes that live chat can be slow at peak times. If you contact support about a deposit, have your transaction reference and account ID ready.

⚖️ 22Bet vs local rivals

How does 22Bet compare with the bookmakers that topped our country guides? Here’s a side-by-side look at the offers we could confirm.

CountryBookmakerSports welcome offerKey strength
🇳🇬 Nigeria22Bet100% first deposit, min. ₦1,700, 5x accasDeep markets, Bet Builder, casino
🇳🇬 NigeriaBet9ja100% up to ₦100,000, min. ₦100Widest local payment menu, shops
🇳🇬 NigeriaBetano50% up to ₦200,000Live betting tools and streaming
🇰🇪 Kenya22Bet100% up to KES 19,000, min. KES 150Clearable bonus, fast M-Pesa payouts
🇰🇪 KenyaBetikaNo promo codes; offers varyLowest margin in ChampsBase’s test, jackpots
🇰🇪 KenyaSportPesa—17-game Mega Jackpot from KES 99
🇬🇭 Ghana22Bet—MoMo payments, Ghana Premier League
🇬🇭 GhanaBetano100% up to GHS 2,000 over 5 stagesOnline Casino licence, official apps

The pattern is clear. 22Bet’s sports bonus is one of the easiest to clear among the big international brands, thanks to 5x wagering at odds of just 1.40 per leg. Local leaders tend to win on odds (Betika in Kenya), jackpots (SportPesa) or the breadth of local payments and shops (Bet9ja). If you value a fair bonus and a wide market selection, 22Bet holds its own; if you want the sharpest prices, keep a second account with a low-margin local bookmaker.

🛠️ Common 22Bet problems and how to fix them

Most issues players report with 22Bet come down to payments, verification or bonus rules. Here’s how to deal with the common ones.

⏳ Deposit not showing

In Kenya, deposits usually reflect within 1 to 5 minutes, and ChampsBase saw them credited in under two minutes. If yours hasn’t arrived, contact live chat with your mobile money transaction code and your 22Bet account ID. Never re-send the payment to a number someone gives you on social media.

🔒 Withdrawal on hold

Withdrawals need a verified account. 22Bet asks for a valid government ID, and proof of address for larger amounts. In Kenya, withdrawals above KES 50,000 go through a KYC review that can take 1 to 24 hours. Verify early so your first payout isn’t delayed.

🎁 Bonus not converting

The sports bonus only counts accumulators of three or more selections, each at odds of 1.40 or higher, and must be wagered five times within 7 days. Singles and short-priced legs don’t count. In Uganda, crypto deposits are excluded from the bonus, and Pulse Sports notes that crypto deposits can disqualify an active bonus in Nigeria.

🔄 Wrong bonus chosen

You pick the sports or casino offer at registration or before your first deposit, and you can’t switch later. If you mainly bet on football, choose the sports bonus: its 5x wagering is far lighter than the casino offer’s.

📲 App won’t install

On Android, you may need to allow installs from your browser to install the APK. Only download it from your country’s official 22Bet site, never from third-party mirrors.

💸 Less money than expected

Check the tax rules in your country. In Kenya, 5% is taken from deposits and 5% from withdrawals; in Nigeria, 5% of net winnings; in Uganda, 15% of net winnings. ChampsBase found that 22Bet shows the deductions in the cashier before you confirm.

ℹ️ If 22Bet’s support can’t resolve a dispute, you can escalate it to your national regulator, such as the LSLGA in Lagos, the GRA in Kenya, the NLGRB in Uganda or the Gaming Commission in Ghana. That’s only possible because you’re playing on a licensed local site.

🛡️ Is 22Bet safe and legit in Africa?

In the countries where it’s licensed, yes: 22Bet’s local companies appear on the official registers of Nigeria’s Lagos regulator, Uganda’s National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board, Ghana’s Gaming Commission (for sports betting) and Kenya’s 2025/26 list. That means a local authority sets rules on KYC, advertising and payouts, and you have somewhere to complain if something goes wrong.

What reviewers found in testing

ChampsBase’s hands-on review of the Kenyan site found that identity checks cleared in under four minutes, M-Pesa payouts arrived without a repeat ID check, and tax deductions were shown in the cashier before you confirm a withdrawal. Those are good signs for a bookmaker that handles a lot of small mobile money transactions.

Points to be aware of

  • Outdated wording: ChampsBase found that the Kenyan footer still cited the old regulator and the 1966 law, which were replaced by the Gambling Control Act, 2025.
  • Inconsistent information: bonus amounts, minimum deposits and app availability differ between 22Bet’s country sites and between review sites. Treat the terms on your local site as the only ones that count.
  • International operations: outside its African licences, 22Bet’s international site operates under an offshore licence. In November 2025, the Curaçao Chronicle reported allegations from an independent investigator about the wider group behind 22Bet’s international business. These were allegations, not regulatory findings, and they don’t relate to the African licences above. They’re another reason to use your country’s licensed site only.
ℹ️ Our view: 22Bet’s African sites are licensed and behave like regulated bookmakers in testing. The safest way to use 22Bet is to stick to your country’s local domain, verify your account early and keep your betting within limits you set in advance.

🪪 22Bet verification (KYC) by country

Every licensed 22Bet site has to confirm who you are before paying out, and the rules are getting stricter across Africa. Here’s what to expect in each country, so you can have your documents ready from day one.

CountryWhat you’ll needWhy it matters
🇳🇬 NigeriaValid government ID and your NIN; proof of address for larger withdrawalsLagos requires the NIN for KYC and for the 5% withholding tax credit
🇰🇪 KenyaIdentity, age and location checksSince the 2026 regulations, these must happen before account activation and before your first deposit
🇺🇬 UgandaProof that you’re 25 or olderUgandan law treats anyone under 25 as a minor
🇬🇭 GhanaGhana CardThe Gaming Commission requires the Ghana Card as the identifier for gaming transactions

The good news is that 22Bet’s checks are quick when your documents are in order: ChampsBase’s Kenyan identity check cleared in under four minutes. The same review found conflicting documentation on whether a driving licence is accepted as ID, so use your national ID card or passport to avoid delays. Make sure the name on your betting account matches the name on your mobile money wallet, because a mismatch is one of the most common reasons payouts get stuck.

Responsible gaming tools

22Bet lets you set deposit limits in the Responsible Gaming section of your account, and the limits are applied on the server side, so they work across the website and the app. Use them before your first deposit, not after a bad run. In Kenya, operators must offer daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits under the 2026 rules, and in Uganda, the regulator’s 2025 directives require limits and a national self-exclusion register.

🧾 Taxes on 22Bet winnings in Africa

Taxes depend on where you play, not on the bookmaker. Here’s what applies at 22Bet’s licensed African sites in 2026.

🇳🇬

Nigeria

Since February 2026, Lagos-licensed operators deduct a 5% withholding tax from your net winnings at payout and send it to the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service. You need your NIN for KYC, and the tax counts as a credit in your own tax filings.

🇰🇪

Kenya

Excise duty of 5% is deducted from every deposit, and 5% withholding tax applies to withdrawals. Sources disagree on whether a 20% tax now also applies to sports betting winnings, so check the deductions shown in the 22Bet cashier before confirming a withdrawal.

🇺🇬

Uganda

A 15% withholding tax on net winnings took effect from 1 July 2026, with presidential assent on 20 August 2026. Lottery is excluded.

🇬🇭

Ghana

Ghana repealed its 10% withholding tax on winnings with effect from 2 April 2025, so no winnings tax should be deducted. Operators pay 20% tax on gross gaming revenue instead.

📝 How to register at 22Bet and claim the bonus

Signing up takes a few minutes. Follow these steps to make sure you’re protected and your bonus is credited.

  1. Open your country’s site. Use 22bet.ng in Nigeria, 22bet.co.ke in Kenya or 22bet.ug in Uganda, so you’re covered by the local licence.
  2. Check your age. You must be 18 or older in Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana, and 25 or older in Uganda, where the law defines anyone under 25 as a minor.
  3. Register and pick your bonus. Enter your phone number or email and choose either the sports or the casino welcome offer. You can’t switch after your first deposit.
  4. Verify your identity. Upload a valid government ID. In Nigeria, add your NIN; in Kenya, identity, age and location checks happen before your first deposit under the 2026 rules.
  5. Set your limits. Choose deposit limits in the responsible gaming settings before you fund your account.
  6. Make a qualifying deposit. Use a local method and meet the minimum: ₦1,700 for the Nigerian bonus and KES 150 in Kenya. Crypto deposits don’t qualify for the Ugandan bonus.
  7. Clear the wagering. Place accumulators of three or more selections at odds of 1.40 or higher until you’ve wagered the bonus five times, within 7 days.

🧪 How we reviewed 22Bet

We focused on what matters to African bettors and checked every fact against a source before including it. This 22Bet review draws on the national licence registers and regulator lists in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana and Tanzania, on independent hands-on reviews from ChampsBase, Pulse Sports and Soccernet, and on our own country guides to the best betting sites in each market.

Where sources disagreed, for example on the size of a bonus, a minimum deposit or whether an app exists in a given country, we left the detail out rather than pick a side. That’s why some cells in our tables show a dash. We’d rather give you a shorter 22Bet review you can trust than a longer one built on figures that may be wrong. We’ll update the review whenever licences are renewed or a regulator publishes a new register, starting with Kenya’s 2026 register and Uganda and Ghana’s renewals for 2027.

🧘 Responsible gambling

Betting should be entertainment, never a way to make money. Only stake what you can afford to lose, and stop if it stops being fun.

Warning signs

  • Thinking about betting all the time or planning the next slip.
  • Chasing losses or borrowing money to bet.
  • Hiding betting from family or lying about how much you spend.
  • Betting to escape stress or bad feelings.

🏁 Final verdict: our 22Bet review for Africa

22Bet is a good bookmaker in the African markets where it’s licensed. In Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda, you get a deep sportsbook, a casino, fast mobile money withdrawals and a welcome bonus with genuinely clearable 5x wagering. In Ghana, it’s a sports-only option with MoMo payments.

It isn’t perfect. Odds trailed the best local bookmaker in a Kenyan comparison, the casino bonuses are much harder to clear than the sports offer, and information varies between country sites. And where we couldn’t confirm a licence, in Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa, we’d choose a locally licensed alternative instead.

Our overall score is 8.4/10. If you’re in a licensed market, register on your country’s site, verify early, compare odds on big matches and set your limits before your first bet.
